Gorgeous fig-brown, mahogany with a large, creamy brown head. Starts with pleasant riffs of munich, crystal/caramel malts. Fig sugar is late in developing, but when it arrives on the seen, it delivers a near knock-out blow of complexity and is utterly enjoyable. Flavor starts similarly with munich and crystal malts massaging their way into the palate. This develops into a deep, full-bodied brown sugar and figgy flavor with the alcohol well-masked, yet also accentuating all of the deep features of this brew. Aroma/flavor profile beckons one to recall the last winter experience with a Baltic Porter. Nuanced and so well flavored as to appeal for a variety of occasions. This one deserves higher ratings.

Pours a darker amber color with a tan head. Aroma is sweeter then I thought it would be with caramel malts, dark fruits, and floral hops. Flavor isn’t as good as I was hoping either. Not as hoppy as I would expect from them. Still has a decent bitter finish.

Mahogany color with a hint of ruby when held to the light. Smaller, but stable light tan head. Sweet grain and husk aromas. HInts of toasted grain and mild caramel as well. Sweet flavors with caramel and light fruit. Middle has a bit of herbal hops to help cut some of the sweetness. This has some bock beer qualities with a lot of malt. A touch warming in the gut. Not bad, at least it beat my expectations.

Pours a deep red oak color. Very small froth head dissipated quickly. Aroma Is spicy and malty with some nice nuttiness to it. Flavor is quite aggressive and presents the fig and sweet molasses immediately. A very nice bite from start to finish and has a bit of fruitiness to it. Medium bodied. Very good and rich throughout.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a nice red/brown color with an off white head. Looks very dense. The aroma shows a little bit of roasted and toffee character. I’m not sure if I pick up any fig. My only experience with fig are in newtons. I guess that’s the bit of dark fruit character that I’m picking up. Its not bad, but hardly noticeable. A lot of the same stuff in the flavor and all well blended together. It comes off almost grape like. Candy-ish. Full body with refreshing carbonation and a balanced finish. Not a bad beer.

500ml bottle. Murky Brown-amber color. Mellow, malty aroma. The taste is very malt centered, but with a pungent caramel and fig flavor. A fairly large disappointment considering the only other fig beer Ive had, Blaugies Darbyste, was quite excellent. The dark and amber malts don’t really compliment the fig flavor that well in my opinion. Not horrible, but certainly not one of Hebrew’s more impressive beers.

Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of cereal and nutty, moderate hops of perfume and light citrus and light notes of red wine, alcohol, dried fig and dark rum. Head is creamy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color clear deep red/brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and finishes lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a carbonation between fizzy and lively. It finishs lightyl alcoholic. Not as strong as I like American Strongs to be, but an interesting twist to the style.
