KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 17, 2008 Dark color. Smell of nuts, dough, banana, raisin, hops, dark fruit and some spice. Taste of bread, roasted malt, hops, dark fruit, nuts, raisin, alcohol, banana, brown sugar and prunes. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jun 15, 2008 Nice pour, a rich chestnut body with a ruby tint and an acceptable beige head which sadly lasts none too long. It has a sweet malty aroma with a light aroma of figs (not a Fruit Beer?) and green raisins. The sweetness never overpowers in the flavor because of an earthy/herbal bitterness that holds it in check along with a light peppery sensation. The finish is interestingly dry. Not bad.
