Bottle. Mahogony beer with a small light tan head. Rich figgy aroma with caramel and spice. Figgy/plum/caramel flavor with some spice. Medium-plus body. Lingering caramel, fig, light spice. Lots of fig fruit in this one.

5 beers in. The beer asks to you to drink it with a dark amber look and a sweet fruity aroma. After you put it in your mouth, the beer fills your mouth with a full sweet flavor. It reminds me of trappist ales, but without the spice. Overall, the aroma was a little too sweet for me. PS. I think my friend is a closet anti-semite. He doesn’t like hebrews. Although he admits they brew with a ridiculous amount of hops and barley, he says, "unique is not always good." Personally, I think he just hates jews. Me on the other had, I am a jew and like this beer.

Bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a clear orange-ruby with a small lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt -- it’s very caramelly -- also sweet and with some floral notes. Flavour’s malty along with dark fruit, some sweet brown sugar and light hops in the finish. Decent body. Nothing great but still a good beer.

Bottle (22oz) shared at ’Rudolf’s May 2008 Tasting’ -- courtesy of Hockey28. Pours a clear orange-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt along with some dark fruit. Flavour of caramel malt, dark fruit and an average bitter finish. Average bodied. It’s decent I guess, I found it just alright.

22 oz bottle...pours a similar color to the Bold with the same nonexistent head. Nose was alcohol, toasted malts, dark fruits. Flavors were a mix of soap, sweet dark fruits, and toasted malts. Palate was oily, and the beer drank more like a stout. It sat very heavy on my stomach...Again, glad this one was free...

Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Sweet and fruity is how I detect the nose to be, and it also has a minor scent of cigar tobacco. The ale is viewed as a headless dark mahogany color similar to a stained cherry wood. In the palate, there is an obvious presence of very fine carbonation and CO2 gas mouth feel but still allows for a pleasant drink. While I sip away at this ale I begin to notice I haven’t really been taken by storm by any flavors in particular which is a sign to me this is an average and subtle beer to say the least. But, let me make note of what my tastebud do find dark fruit such as fig and raisin and maybe even a tart reminder of unripe pomegranate seeds. Also, there is the reminder of cigar tobacco and even the chance of some kind of cough syrup or cherry favored medicine.

22oz bottle-A nice ruby body with a small tight off white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, and malt. Taste of malt, fruit, sweetness, a little alcohol, and a dryness and bitterness on the back end. This full bodied brew also brings along some taste of raisins. Another good brew for these guys. Very drinkable.

Dark ruby pour with a nice sized, creamy tan head. Somewhat sweet malty aroma with a bit of fruit. Dark fruits come out more after tasting. Warming alcohol towards the middle but it works well. Cherry, plum towards the finish. Lingering bitterness. Pretty good!

2008-05-17. Brown body with a modest beige/tan head. (3+) Pleasant aroma, sweet malt base, mild hops and something I can’t pin down. (7+) Similar flavour, sweet malty foundations, hints of caramel, very light balancing bitterness. (7+) Smooth average plus palate. On the simple side of things, but very pleasant and quite drinkable. At Rudolf’s, shared by hockey28
