Bottle and served in my NB Worthy glass: Near brownish hue with a small fading head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of fig, caramel, toast, juniper, resin and earthy and minerally esters. The taste is mostly sweet malt and sweet dark fruit with a hit of spice, twangy acidity and continental hop bitterness towards the finish. A note of alcohol kept this from becoming cloy. The mouth feel is sprite and refreshing, oily and a touch of drier mineral water upon the finish. Not too shabby but seems a bit one note, a good winter warmer never the less.

Deep copper amber, moderate ecru head with decent retention. Aroma of fig jam, prunes, and a slight rummy/boozy quality. Palate delivers all that is promised in the nose. Medium bodied, medium sweetness, with a (you guessed it) medium bitter finish that is a little hot.

Bottle (22oz) My bottle shared with blankboy, garthicus, GregClow and tupalev. I’ll be honest, we got to talking and my notes are pretty thin, but ... Clear red-amber with an average off-white head. Slightly milky aroma, mostly sweet and floral. Sweet and floral and a little boozy in the taste - actually seems a tad syrupy - not bad, but not something I’d want again. Sticky; sugary; not bitter enough by a long shot to balance itself.

Actually really liked this one. Brownish with a large head. Fruity aroma and definite malty aroma as well. Could taste the fruit, especially figs, as a I drank it. Liked the malty flavor. Very different, but I liked it!
