Pours a hazy ruby burgundy with lavender highlights and a very small white head. Has a strong yeasty nose, sweet with lots of dark candied fruits. Bready maltiness and some warm alchohol notes. Reminds me a little bit of Samiclaus with less alcohol. Lovely dark fruits and a well balanced malty fruit texture you can really sink your teeth into. Takes a few sips to really get used to it and get into it and is essential for this to be served at the proper temperature to pick up all the nuances. Great conceptual take on a Doppelbock.

nice malty backbone of a beer that is pleasantly enhanced by the earthy flavor of quality figs. 22 oz bottle went down well and had little alcohol profile. not much in the hop area (somewhat disappointing) but all in all ok. good fruit flavors of raisin and dark cherry the beer had somewhat of a sweetness to it. a spice profile that is not overdone.

Hebrew Rejewvenator 2/7/09 (bomber. Pours brown with a cream-colored head. Aroma is full of plum and raisin. Flavor is initially quite sweet, of molasses and brown sugar. As it warms, flavors round much nicer, producing greater emphasis on subtle fruit qualities such as ripe plum and fig. This drink was still on the sweet side for me, however.

Pours a burgandy to brown color with a small circle of carbonation around the edge of the glass. Aroma of figs, malt, caramel, chocolate, fruit and spices. Flavor is figs, rasins, fruit, malt, caramel. Fairly interesting brew.

Pours a reddish color with little head. Flavor is dominated by a chewy maltiness. That’s all I wrote down for this; I think I tried it after chugging some DFH 120min at the end of a 5 hour tasting, so you know how that goes.

22 oz. brown bomber. No freshness date seen. Poured out a dark cherry juice color, with hardly any head. Some foam around the edge of the glass is about all. Aromas are of dried cherries, plums, raisins. Flavors are of malts, dried fruits, earthy hops. Thin body, OK mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. Definitely drinkable. At least once, that is.

Year of the fig came across as a decent viscous brew, but there was nothing about it that really seemed to capture my interest. Some dark malty and fig aromas coupled by fruity red wine and raisins. Ruby~brown pour, collapsing tan head and spotty lacing. Full bodied, borderline syrupy and rather sweet to the taste buds. A jumbled flavor of mixed berries, sugary malt and bear claws. Meh.

Ruby-brown color with a thin ring of foam. Aroma of dark fruits, mainly plum and figs accompanied by some subtle notes of cola and cocoa. Light caramel flavors followed by a faint fruit tartness of figs and raisins. Finishes with some piney hop bitterness and a hint of cocoa powder.
