very good, the flavors of the dates are quite apparent, the other flavors of spices such as nutmeg, coriander are also in this beer. slightly astringent at the end, still its worth your time.

The aroma is nice with dates, dark malt, and hops. The appearance is brown with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma with ginger bread and a bitter sweet finish. The palate is smooth. Overall a good but not great beer. It’s like a unique hef.
4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 mrhoppy (649) - Santa Clara, California, USA - JUN 23, 2009
This Beer is Inspirational! Is Jeremy Cowan coming up with these beers? Absolutely phenomenal. Delicious, delicious, delicious. Year of the fig was heavy on the fig and awesome. This years offering is lighter on the date flavor but it comes through in the finish. I am not a big fan of Belgium yeast but this beer helps me cross over by using fruit and mellowing the strong yeast flavor. If yo haven’t tried the fig offering, Oh my!! You must try!

22 ounce bottle from the Davis Food Co-Op. Sweet, buttery, diacetyl aroma with some fruity, yeasty banana esters present. A little bit of brown sugar. Pretty annoying. Transparent dark amber colored body with a decent off-white head. Some banana yeast estery notes are present in the start, before the beer becomes very roasted with lots of tobacco characteristics. Finishes pretty darn dry. Blegh.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Brewso (238) - Mt Kisco, New York, USA - JUN 20, 2009
Fig, dates, burnt brown sugar with a sharp cleansing hop finish. Carbonation is perfect. The dubbel aspects are very Ommegang and the dopple adds a thick smoothness. I have not rated a beer in a while but this inspired me...as He’brew often does.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 craftbeerdesign (1983) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - JUN 19, 2009
on draft at Taco Mac, Alpharetta. arrived a deep dark brown with a nice sized tan/white head. some deep fruit aromas along with some malt. medium body... big dark fruit notes over the palate including fig, raisin, and plum. Rejewvenator carries a really well rounded body and mouthfeel - it is very smooth, not too sweet, and is very drinkable for nearly 8% alcohol. A really nice blend of doppelbock and Belgian dubbel. A lot of interesting ingredients went into this one - Trappist yeast, Warrior hops, date juice, and many other varieties of hops, malts and yeasts. a definite try - it is a pleasure.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 trevor211 (990) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 17, 2009
Had to give this one a try. Pours a muddy, ruddy brown with a medium tan head. Smells hugely sweet. Dates (duh), figs, pumpkin pie, raisins and some molassesy caramel make the aroma very one-sided. The flavor brings it back around, though. The alcohol warms it and balances a bit, and whatever hops are in here are far more noticeable in the flavor than the aroma. It has a huge flavor, huge mouthfeel, and they nailed the carbonation - just enough to keep this thick of a brew clean. Not sure where else the bitterness in here comes from, but it balances nicely, and manages to keep the brew from being overpowered by all the malty / fruity sweetness. In fact, the aftertaste is a little acerbic / medicinal. Kudos for packing this much flavor in, but it still isn’t my cup of tea, and doesn’t hold a candle to the Celebrator I had last night.

22oz bottle suggested by Brent at Redlight. Pours a dark brown with a thick creamy head. Big aroma of dark fruit, fig and prune. Nice malt body with dark fruit juice flavors, more prune and fig. I think the flavors blend well and it is kind of unique. Not your everyday beer, but a good one to try.
