COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
I love when you open a door or turn a corner and realize there is an entire world that you’d never imagined existed, that’s in fact overflowing with people, schemes, and action. 2010 Sacred Species #3 seemed so obvious-Grapes. Noah’s first vineyard debacle (Genesis 9:20) to Dionysus, mythical Bacchus to Bar Mitzvah bad boys, Mogen David and Manischewitz. Appropriately Epic shtick. How many cups of Concord in childhood and many times have I heard: "But Jews don’t drink beer!" This year we came across the raging debates, alternative science, internet controversy and tribal rivalry of World Records relating to Š Grapes. Speed catching (67 in one minute, 1189 in 30 minutes!); Solo throw, run, catch (40 ft!!); Longest distance (354’4", shot from a water balloon launcher!!!); Greatest Height record (788 ft skyscraper!!!!) For this third incarnation of Rejewvenator I’m simply letting the mythological and pop cultural shtick rest and slurping together with all of you in a toast to this bizarre and delicious freakshow that we call Life... L’Chaim!

22 oz. bottle purchased @ Table and Vine, West Springfield, MA. Used a lager glass. Murky brown color (Like muddy river water) Off white head that died fast. No lace. Good carbonation level. Nose smells like Welch’s Grape juice. Tastes of grapes, malt, caramel, fig and nuts. Medium body. Oily texture becomes dry in the finish. A very odd blend. It has a Bock –like quality but… I’m not telling my friends to run out and buy a bottle of this.

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown with an off-white head. Sweet & fruity aroma with caramel, grape juice, yeast and brown sugar. Sweet and malty flavor of concord grape juice, dark fruit, caramel, molasses and had a bit of bitterness.

pours reddish brown with 2 solid fingers of offwhite head. Aroma of figs, dark fruit, slight bit of red grape. Tastes like a malty dark-fruit infused doppelbock - dried fruits, figs, raisin, dried plum, hint of red grape. Very easy to drink. This one had potential, but was just missing something that kept it from being memorable. The bomber went down easy, despite being 8% plus

Bottle from Pacific Liquor: Created a firm layer of frothy foamed head while the liquid was a lightly tinted brown that was hazy. As for the nose, a robust aroma freshly cut fruit is paired nicely with a sweet base of caramel like malts but there is also a faint scent of barrel aging or wood. The palate tingles my tongue yet it doesn’t seem high in carbonation but it does have a heavy mouth feel that is different than most other beers. The flavor confuses me somehow with an odd combination of lush purple grapes while at the same time it could be a sweet green grape, however, this beer does holds a strong backbone of high quality malts that add to the sweetness of this beer and it certainly distinguishes itself from other doppelbocks.

Nice copper-caramel body with some carbonation and a solid head. Well-balanced aroma of fruity citrus and grain, this smells very appetizing. Flavour is a good barley and bread mix with just a hint of grape. This is well balanced and extremely tasty, but the mouthfeel is too cloying and leaves some odd weird flavours lingering. Still it’s worth a try.

Tap at Churchkey. Clear brown pour. Nose holds monstrous grape, dark fruit, molasses, and Cointreau. Unimpressive grape-forward flavor. Watery, not impressed.

Grape flavor discernible, very unique and delicious. Interesting. Carmel color... more Belgian than Bock

22oz bottle poured into a Belgian lambic flute. Appearance: Pours a hazy amber/brown in glass. Not much of a head, was white and soon dissipated...the flute could have something to do with it. Aroma: Not surprising, the sweetness of grape juice right off the start. Pear, pineapple, cherries, oranges, light molasses. Taste: Sweet grape taste...flat, not much carbonation at all. Could have waited too long to drink? The taste seems way more toned down than the aroma. Palate: Smooth, light-med bodied, some fizzy feel. Overall: It’s good but I expected a lot more. Curious to know if the taste is related to the age. Not bad at all, but I prefer the previous Rejewvenator years a lot more.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured hazy reddish brown with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate tart grape and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet & sour fruit flavor and a medium sweet & sour finish of moderate duration. Good young that should be better with some age.

5ooml bottle split with Ann. I’m pretty sure I had this on tap and rated it as well..Deep, glowing amber-brown color. Thin, frothy beige head. Has really mellowed out in the 8 months of closet life. The juice stands firmly, with some creamy, sugary dark brown chocolate notes. An odd creature certainly, but not so awkward in it’s mix...the flavors do sort of complement each other. A little light in body, somewhat fluffy and watery. Could have used some more rich Dubbel or Doppelbock tones..maybe the grape juice covers them up. Some pleasant dark fruit tones I suppose. OK.
