COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
I love when you open a door or turn a corner and realize there is an entire world that you’d never imagined existed, that’s in fact overflowing with people, schemes, and action. 2010 Sacred Species #3 seemed so obvious-Grapes. Noah’s first vineyard debacle (Genesis 9:20) to Dionysus, mythical Bacchus to Bar Mitzvah bad boys, Mogen David and Manischewitz. Appropriately Epic shtick. How many cups of Concord in childhood and many times have I heard: "But Jews don’t drink beer!" This year we came across the raging debates, alternative science, internet controversy and tribal rivalry of World Records relating to Š Grapes. Speed catching (67 in one minute, 1189 in 30 minutes!); Solo throw, run, catch (40 ft!!); Longest distance (354’4", shot from a water balloon launcher!!!); Greatest Height record (788 ft skyscraper!!!!) For this third incarnation of Rejewvenator I’m simply letting the mythological and pop cultural shtick rest and slurping together with all of you in a toast to this bizarre and delicious freakshow that we call Life... L’Chaim!

Bottle served in Duvel snifter: Pours a reddish brown with a surprisingly short lived head and minimal lacing. The aroma has notes of grape juice, honey, brown sugar, crystal and toasted malts, and some antiseptic vapour. The taste has some fruitiness but seemed flat and almost stale. Versus most HeBrew big beers this one is rather mundane and utterly boring, not even the malt pop on this. Washed out flavor profile and chalky medicinal finish. Heck, this is not even boozy and hot like some of its stablemates and that would have even been welcomed to excite this flabby blahness. The tepid mouth feel just adds to the ... wait I dosed off there for a second, oh yeah this is a disappointing offering to say the least. Epic fail!

Copper pour with off white head. Aroma is raisins and malt. Flavor is sweet malt and dried fruit. A light hinto cherry as well. Medium body with ok carbonation. Ok beer but glad I don’t have 10 bottles to drink.

22 oz. bottle purchased at Bellport Cold Beer & Soda. I was pleasantly surprised to find this vintage beer sitting on the shelves in Dave’s store. Pours a murky brown with a moderate amber-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Happily, there were no chunks floating about as happens from time to time with older beers. The aroma is strongly toffee with notable sweetness. A bit of overripe orange in the nose as well. The flavor is even sweeter than the aroma suggests with super sweet toffee and some supporting overripe orange. There was no sign of the concord grape in either the nose or the taste. Cloying on the palate. I would have liked to have had this one much fresher. Alas, it did not age well.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2013 Bottle from Bootleggers. Dark amber with a slight purple haze and minimal head. Aroma of grapes and wood. Taste is very weird: grape, hazelnut, hints of coffee. Not a usual combination.

Notes from 2011 -- Pours a dark amber with almost no head, had a reddish hue to it. Candi Sugar dominates initial whiff which fades to malt and grape sweetness. Initial dull malt flavor that gives way to complex malt, grape, citrus sweetness. Has a slight by distinct flavor throughout. Enjoyable to drink. Wouldn’t bode well in large quantities as the sweetness that makes it a good beer would overwhelm.

Pours a muddy brown with a beige head and sweet, fruity aroma of grape juice and caramel. Taste is sweet and very fruity with a lot of grape flavor coming through along with lighter caramel and malt notes. Unique brew, too much grape and fruit for me

Bomber. Pours a surprisingly muddy brown pour with no appreciable head. Nose is sweet, and fruity with a predominance of overripe grapes. Taste is malty, sweet and very fruity. Finish is very sweet and borders on nauseating. Nice try, but not for me. Quaff Score 4 / 10

Murky brown - purple beer, small cream coloured head. Smooth palate with mild carbonation. Fairly malty with a trace of marmite. Mild tangy grape juice. Fairly neutral finish. Quite drinkable but pretty simplistic. Overall a bit malty.

7/28/2011: He’Brew Rejewvenator (Harvest to Harvest Ale; Half Doppelbock, Half Belgian Style Dubbel; Ale brewed with All Natural Concord Grape Juice)... Aroma: Concord grape juice (moreso as the beer warms) with a bit of rye/caraway cracker. Appearance: Amber color, golden hue; thin beige veil that creates interesting shapes. Flavor: Luckily, the flavor doesn’t pass on the Concord grape juice character, but it’s a bit flat... Mostly caramel malt with a suggestion of floral hop along with some DRY Concord grape juice through the finish (more and more grape juice as the beer warms paired with a caramel syrup sweetness; the concord grape seems to dominate a bit a room temp); a bit overly sweet throughout. Palate: Medium-full body; smooth, sticky on the lips. Overall: Good, but a bit of a let-down; fig and date were so much better and more complex...

22 fl. oz. bottle (8.2% Alc. by Vol.). Rating #144 for this beer.

Tap at CK thanks to nmann08. Pours a clear orange to amber. Spotty lacing. Weak foam. Nose is tomato, oilive, mint, pimento, harbs, candies. Taste is mint, toffee, tobacco. Palate is decently malty, spicy. Weird stuff.
