3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber ----> Snifter. Nose is big time dates, light molasses, fruity dates, belgian yeast, candy. Pour is dark brown, almost black. Flavor is lightly fruity, molasses, spicy yeast, semi-sweet. Not too bad.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bomber shared by OmegaX. The pour was a very clean and deep brownish-purple with excellent head retention. The smell was all dates, figs and toffee. It tasted great with a full-on lager smoothness with light hops and sweet malts. The finish was subtle fig and yeast for a nice balance. Pretty good stuff overall.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber pours with a clear deep ruby red body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma is full and pulsing with dates, brown sugar, figs and a bit of caramel malts. Another pull brings up more figs and lagery yeasty and lightly fruity esteriness. The taste is similar as it is full of robust levels of dates flowing into some figs and prunes and browns sugar and caramel malts. Thereís hops in this? I guess. There are lots of pleasing flavors mingling around together creating plenty of interest as well as balance. Cool beans.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Dark brown with a fizzy white head. Sweet caramel, molasses, toffee, bubble gum, banana, and clove aroma and taste with a big burnt grain and clove finish, but there are some unfortunate phenolic notes that lingering in the after finish. Thick sticky palate. Nice complexity.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
This brew is not 2 bad. It has a fight taste and it washes down fine. While it does not excite it does not offend either. Itís a good brew for a crisp summer day of conversation. As long as you are not discussing Crime and Punishment.

Good. Not the best Belgian style I have ever had. 22oz. Bottle. Tastes like something is just a little off from other really good Belgians I have had. Still glad I found it at our local shop.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Honestly, I wanted to like this. I really, really did. Itís a decent looking beer, ruby red with a nice head. Smell ok, too. But itís just a boozy mess, the tropical flavors clash with the malts. Just not my thing.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle. Purple color, rusty head. Odd fizz. Aroma of dark fruit, Belgian Dubbel yeast esters. Flavors of burnt rubber, juiced figs, dark fruit esters. Malt is the dominant character in this beer. Dry, wooded, rubber, alcoholic finish. (3731)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, light beige head, over a clear brown (SRM 20) body.....nose is dark malts, with light coffee, molasses, brown sugar.....taste is moderate sweet, with brown sugar, molasses, plum, prune, finishing with light hop bitterness, with a twinge of spice.....mouth feel light of medium, slightly astringent, alcohol warmth present, carbonation adds slight acid tingle. This is not a bad beer, but it lacks the incredible depth in the malt backbone of a Doppelbock. Also, it is sweeter than a typical Dubbel. Hence the breweryís given name. I would prefer less muddle in aroma and flavor. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7
