[Polypin at the Three Crowns, Chippenham] Cloudy, very pale gold. Vinegary aroma - but good quality vinegar. In the mouth it’s one of the smoothest drinks I’ve ever tasted. Sweet eating apples, vanilla and soft creamy pears come through, just kept wanting to taste this over and over again. Amazingly tasty, amazingly more-ish. No sourness, and little dryness, yet somehow manages to avoid being oversweet. Fantastic stuff - restored my interest in perry after a previous bad experience.

From a polypin at the Wellington, Bristol 29/05/10. Sweetish aroma of juicy pears with some lemon. Flavour had more sweet fruit, with a touch of drier skin and spice in the finish. Good.

Polycask at Banbury Beer Festival, Oxon, 07-05-09 Pours straw colour gloriously sweet after I’d had a slew of dry or med dry ciders. Nose is a little waxy but the sweetness is there also, little bit shallow on depth of flavour, but really very nice although that sweetness lingers. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov14 3.4

But otherwise rather sweet. Light yeasty note in the finish. Quite sticky sweet and almost cloying by the half pint even.

From the barrel Milton Keynes BF A very light lime gren coloured perry with hints of pear in the aroma. The taste is sweet and full of brown sugar. Just a hint of pear. Too sweet and unchallengingly commercial.
