Draught (Cambridge Blue, Cambridge) as "Hecks Portwine Medium Sweet" at 6.5%
Misty orange, no head. Beautifully fruity aroma, some lovely sharpness as well as the rich sweet fruitiness. Taste is dangerous, according to Anna, but I disagree - I think itís magnificent. We agree to compromise on "sublime". Beautifully soft palate. Right now, this is saying "best cider ever" to me. It may be sweet but itís utterly delicious, and gloriously drinkable. Aged so gracefully, presumably in wood from the mellowness. Palate is just right, it has just the right amount of sharpness to balance the sweetness. Wow.

Bottle shared. Pours clear rich golden amber with no head. Aroma of sweet red apples, tart apples, light wood and funk. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light acidic. Real soft sweet red apple palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation.

Draught at The Orchard Inn, Bristol. Gold with no head. Sweet, fruity dessert apple type cider, thinnish a little claggy on the palate. Itís ok.

apickles (303) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 27, 2014
Tasted at the annual ale and arty beer festival in Stockton. Slightly cloudy with a hint of red colouring, but mainly golden. Quite a strong nose, slightly vinegary traditionally smelling cider. Really quite nice, full of flavour, just slightly drying on the mouth.

500ml bottle from New Forest Cider, Borough Market. Exceedingly good cider, fruity and rich with overripe apples and just the right amount of dry earthiness on the finish.

Hazy med amber golden color. Mildly spicy nose if nutmeg and cinnamon and raisins. Unbelievable sweet and tart mouth showing cinnamon, brandy, stewed apples. Great balance of acidity. Puckering dry finish. Stewed apples and cinnamon just linger despite the dryness at the end. Wow. This is the type of English cider Iíve been looking for.

Cask @ The Castle Inn, West Lulworth - The permanent Dorset Cider Festival. Unclear, dark orange body with practically no head. Aroma has apple cores and wood. Flavor is medium sweet apple, quite strong apple core/ripe apple, wood and a bit earthy. Nothing here that reminds me about port wine, but it has a pleasant robust and smooth flavor at the same time. Interesting twist.

A hazy pinkish cider. The aroma has notes of apples and vinegar. The flavor has notes of apples, vinegar, and wood, leading to a dry and tart finish.
