Amber color, big cloudy white head. Fruits, metal, yeast and alcohol in the aroma. Medium-bodied, malty, good balanced mouthfeel. Crisp hoppy and alcoholic flavor (in a good way). Although this is named as "amber", it is quite tripel-like. Enjoyable, although not very complex. bierkoning (4933), La Tropica, Netherlands Dec 7, 2005 Orange brown color. Nutmeg and cinnamon in the aroma. Malty spicy flavor with nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger. Medium bodied. Well made, but not exactly my taste. fonefan (4871), Ulfborg, Denmark Jul 1, 2007 Bottle. Unclear medium amber color with a average to large frothy / creamy good lacing fully lasting off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, grass, cardboard, some sojasauce / sesame oil alike notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, textureis oily, carbonation is soft. JorisPPattyn (4500), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 21, 2005 Fully hazy dark-amber with olive shine; huge pink-yellow head, very dense leaving some lace. Faint roasted coffee nose, vegetable background. Burnt-caramel coffee taste with an obvious spicey finish. After some time, there’s a marked sojasauce/sesame oil flavour. Bit burning MF, spice-enhanced it would seem; well bodied with mild alcoholburn. Original & quaint. The proof would be in the ageing. Somehow this keeps reminding me the Steedje beers. And those where dangerous to keep - mostly. Sounds, sorry, tastes familiar... chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Nov 4, 2007 Bottle, at Zythos, March 2006. To be honest, this didn’t make much of an impression on me. Mid amber colour. The usual spicy, yeasty aroma. Some fruity caramel. Touch of hops. Quite mellow - smoother than the Tripel tasted at the same time. Resudual sweetness in the aftertaste. Decent but unspectacular.
