This is a pider, That is a cross between a cider and a perry - made with a mixture of apples and pears. It appeared at Twickenham Beer Festival, but, apart from that, I can’t find out anything about the producer whatsoever. It was a very cloudy orangey yellow colour with a spirity aroma - hints of acetone there. However, the underlying soft pear character comes through and continues into the flavour. Surprisingly easy going on the palate, considering the odd first hit on the nose. Intriguing. From the barrel at Twickenham Beer Festival 2004.

Draught at the Twickenham Beer Festival 2004. Indeed, as Chris says this is a cross between cider and perry. Heavy on both. Fruity and musty, smokey and quite nice. Spirity.

Barrel@Twickenham BF. Intersting concept- a blend of cider and perry. Has the same sort of cheesy funk you expect in most farmhouse ciders and perrys. Acidic appleskins and soft pear flavours, interesting.
