Bottle 50 cl. Pours cloudy golden in color with thick creamy whitish head. Butterscotch, wheat and a bit of vanilla in aroma. Chewy mouthfeel. Sweet wheat, some buttery notes and light spicyness in taste. Solid weissbier.

Bottle: Golden, hazy, mid-sized stable off-white head, bubblegum and unripe raspberries in the sourish-wheaty nose; light to moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, quite soft but pretty thin; mild sweetish-sourish finish with traces of wheat: Not really bad, but too thin...

bottle from Bierzwerg. Cloudy orange-yellow colour, large white head. Wheaty and yeasty, very slightly fruity. Hints of buttermilk. Quite nice.

500 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de.
Cloudy orangey golden colour with small to average size white head. Yeasty, wheaty, sourish spicy and caramel sweet aroma. Flavour is yeast, caramel, mild sourness and mild bitterness. Not my idea of great Hefeweizen. Weird.

Idiosynkrasie (1839) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 28, 2012
500ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour with average to huge, collapsing macropore white head. Sourish wheaty aroma, unripe pear, rhubarb, broad bean. Slightly muggy taste, banana doesn’t reach a status of complete evolvement, too much sourish notes, an otherwise welcome citrus note doesn’t add freshness therefore.

The Weizen in the glass is dark yellow-orange, with a slightly soapy, pearly, but very staunch head. It smells very yeasty and fruity, (orange and banana ). Perfect for a beautiful sunny day like today. Starts very fruity-sweet and mild yeasty, tart and creamy. The middle part also shows very fruity, with lots of banana and orange. Goes into a fruity-sweet, mild and creamy-yeasty finish. Excellent german Hefeweizen!!!

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Hazy yellow color! Dry clove and pepper aroma with scent of tobacco and grapefruit. Dry clovey and peppery flavor with hint of plastic. Hard spiciness with some plasticky notes, not my kind of weizen.

Enjoyed while dining at a fancy restaurant named Restaurant Rattstube in Eppingen, Germany with work and work-related associates. I had a decent meal, but not the ox dish that others enjoyed, so this beer may inadvertently get a lower rating as a result, which is slightly unfortunate but there’s nothing I can do about that. Appearance was a nice slightly dark gold with a rich, frothy white head, typical with the variety. Aroma I can’t really remember too well, but I remember it having those typical German weiss characteristics which were pretty nice. Taste was pretty good, but again, I didn’t have the ox so this beer gets a worse rating as a result (which I’m half joking about). This is a very nice Weiss beer, would gladly have again.

Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are wheat malt, yeast, fruits and hops.
