Tmoney99 (3503), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 14, 2008 Can from Liqour Barn. Poured clear pale color with a large frothy white head that mostly diminished with virtually no lacing. Light grainy aroma. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with a sweet finish of short duration. Worth having once. Piggy (26), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 6, 2008 Golden sunny looking in color, medium forming head very white. Smell semi sweet something you might mind in most mass produced beers. a little bitter in taste very bland and watery. Nothing to exciting on the palate leaves a grainy feeling in your mouth. Walt (2268), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 6, 2008 #2000: The can says this is "Pure Genuine"...sweet...pour is clear still golden yellow looking with a tiny white head...smell is sweet and grainy taste is lightly sweet and grainy with a sweet corn aftertaste...finish is sticky and cloying... HoosierBrew (2), Chicagoland, Illinois, USA does not count Apr 2, 2008 I wish there was a Ratebeer rating for "value", as I would distinguish between ratings for beers I’d like to have on a desert island, and those that provide the best quality for the price. This is definitely a "value" beer, but a good one at that.
At around $3.75 for a 6-pack of tall boys, Old Style Light is a light, easy-drinking beer. There is nothing offensive about the aroma, appearance or palate, although like many ’light’ beers, the flavor is pale and is best served cold. But compared to its similarly-priced peers in the cooler (High Life, Busch, Icehouse, etc.) the lower calories cut down on the heavy corn-brew tang. Add to that, Old Style Light is more "authentic" in Chicagoland than Pabst, and available on tap at Wrigley Field, to boot! Overall, a very affordable and drinkable domestic option where you can find it. guyinchicago (209), marengo, Illinois, USA Feb 23, 2008 oh my gawd this has to be one of the worst lite beers in the world.... the only time i would drink this beer is if i were in the desert dying
