weisinator (66), USA Jul 11, 2003 Wow, there's actually some malt sweetness and a hint of hops, which is far more than I can say for "The Big Three". But then this is like comparing a Hyundai to a Kia. drewcifer85710 (158), Youngstown, Ohio, USA Jun 22, 2003 This is slightly sweet/nutty. I bought this out of curiosity once. Really, I saw this at the store and had to wonder just exactly what the fuck it was. The packaging sets the taster up for something awful, and when you find out it's not THAT awful, you'll feel like you just got something for nothing. I did, anyway. jerkadilly74 (155), mooresville, Indiana, USA Jun 18, 2003 Not bad, but not really good either. The light version of this beer is a lot easier to drink, but overall, Old Stool (as it's known in Indiana) isn't too bad. At about 10 bucks a 30 pack the price is hard to beat. GO CUBS!! Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA May 11, 2003 Ah, my first beer in Chicago. Had to have one, since there's an Old Style sign on every run-down pub on every backstreet corner. I purchased a 40, of course. Actually has an acceptable, mild malty pilsener aroma. Not much to look at, but it musters a 2 for the label. Mildly hopped and pretty smooth drinking. Fizzy, with an OK zip to the palate. I feared this beer, but it's passable. whiterabbit81 (243), Tallahassee, Florida, USA May 11, 2003 I had it at the bowling alley for the first time the other night. It was a dollar a bottle and wasn't worth that. Horrible, vile stuff that made Bud Light taste good. burgerlicious (308), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA May 11, 2003 i don't understand why this beer advertises that it's 'chicago's brew' or something to that affect, but it's made in milwaukee... besides that, it's slightly better than pbr... Wrath (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA May 8, 2003 This beer gives me a headache after having one.Watered down and crappy is no way for a beer to live. Panzuriel (992), Westerville, Ohio, USA Apr 7, 2003 A midwest standard. Not that good of a thing. Much better on tap than in the can where the metal really leads. On tap, it's yellow with a rapidly fading head. Some mild sweetness in aroma and taste. Thin and watery texture. Finishes a little crappy.
