Yes this is my home town beer but it’s too much like Lite and Bud Lite. I will say that when out of towners come here I tell them to drink at least a 6 pack of Old style and have a sac of White Castles...
I wish Old Style had a stronger more Beer-y brew. I do like Special Export but I don’t know about Old Style too much I drink it for the History here in Chi-town.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap in pint glass.
Appearance: standard light lager appearance-- clear pale straw, thin white head, scant lacing, plenty of streaming carbonation.
Aroma: some corn and lightly toasted barley
Mouthfeel: light, crisp, refreshing
Flavor: light barley sweetness, plenty of corn, maybe a tiny bit of hop bitterness
Overall: it is what it is. It paired well with my burger and fries. Not exciting, but no offensive in any way.

Not good, but tastes like Chicago in the summer. Watery grassy corny. But one of my favorite of these macro lager sorts.

Not much to say here, but it feels good to be back in Chicago. Goes down like water.

canned, thanks to Art, old school grainy corn lager, nice clean sweet flavor, antiseptic aroma, mild thin palate

Tap. Buttery. Strong corn taste. Sweet. Nothing special here folks. End of notes from last night.

Another run-of-the-mill lager that I drank when young...and on a budget. Details foggy, but low rating is accurate.

Not bad, from a pounder can. Taste like many other cheaper pale lagers and although its not over the top in personality, it does come across as a little more processed, perhaps like a beer made by city brwing. Decent and somewhat refreshing fer sure. Not sure if I could handle more than a few of these babies.

I used to drink this in college, before there was good beer in the US. It was peer pressure, I guess, since they were from Chicago and I was a New Yorker. I felt like I had to drink it, especially on football weekends. I didn’t like it very much and I used any excuse to avoid drinking it.

On tap at Wrigley because that is probably the best (only) place you should drink this. Pours clear yellow with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor are pretty bland, sweet grainy malts, some skunky notes, grass. I was at Wrigley though. I have heard stories that this wasn’t as bad many years ago.
