Oatmeal Stout. This dark english/irish beerstyle in Heimdal-Brygs powerful version is made with extensive flavours. Is brewed with 10 different malt and cornsorts, like caramelmalt and oats, which gives a good body, chocolatemalt and roasted barley adds the roasted/burned notes and then a wellbalanced hopsstructure, which balance the beer. Grand flavours in balance.

Bottle: Pitch-black, almost creamy, slowly diminishing tanned head, deep roast-malty, burnt-malty nose with traces of ashes, cacao and a discreet port-vinous fruitiness (raisins...!); moderate bitter-sweet flavour, silky MF, long lasting, complex, dry finish: roasted malt, chocolate, ashes, sweet malt. a fine brew.....

(bottle, with thanks to Hildigöltur & Dixen) Pitch black colour with a beige, medium-sized foamy head. Slightly dusty, sweet and strong malty, roasty and quite complex aroma with caramel, liquorice and mocha. Bitter flavour with a light but balancing sweetness, medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Roast-malty taste with aromatic notes of caramel, chocolate and a touch of coffee; long-lasting bitter-sweet finish with burnt malty notes and a dry hops character. Good one which seems to mature very well.

Bottle shared with thewolf. Bottle. Pours a pitch black colour with a short lasting head. Aroma of dark fruits, hops and chocolate. Rather thin mouthfeel for a stout. Flat soft bit dull chocolate and roasty maltiness and caramel in the flavour. Roasty bit chocolateish finish.

Bottle. [shared with faroeviking @ Plan B. Thanks for buying this, Jacob]
Pours a deep mahogany with a small creamy off-white head that quickly disappears. Aroma is malty, a little roasted some sweetness and liqourice. Okay, but slightly watery mouthfeel. Flavour is roasted with only a little sweet chocolate mixed in.

Fynske Øldage 2005, Odense. This oatmeal stout has a black/brown color and a big-bubbly head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and light sweetness. In the flavour the sweetness and malt are initially quite alone, but then the notes of licorice and chocolate comes along in a mild, but still very clear way. The mouthfeel is somewhat thin, and IMO the sweetness is a bit too much in the long run.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Dark brown. Coffee aroma. Dryish with rounded mouthfeel. Notes of tobacco and coffee. Salty finish with a touch of ink. Surprisingly dry for a sweet stout.

CBF07 sample from tap. Pours dark hazy brown with a little brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is dry roasted malt. Slight bitterness. Dry malty finish. Slightly too simple to really be interesting beyond good.

JSquire, Hotstuff and I had this at a tasting party at his house last night. We had a blind 5 stout tasting and this was #4. This bottled brew from a rating party poured a small sized head of frothy large sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a semi-opaque no visible carbonation dark brown colored body. The aroma was malty sweet and mild chocolate. The thin mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt roasted malt and sweet. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again.
