COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

At Copenhagen Oldage on 20 May 2006 (didn’t note down whether it was tap or bottle). Mid brown colour. Some figgy fruit and a dash of (slightly smoky?) malt throughout. Some caramel. Decent enough, Didn’t really make much of an impression, truth be told. Not really a favourite style.

pivnizub (7239) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - NOV 26, 2007
Bottle: Hazy, some clumps visible, brown coloured, thick, lacing creamy head, moderate sweet-caramalty, sugary nose, hops and molasses detectable; solid sweet flavour with a hoppy tinge, smooth MF; sugary-caramelly finish with influences of toasted malt and a light bitterness in the aftertaste. Well drinkable, even though it is quite sweet............

Maria (8586) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 3, 2007
It’s a very dark brown ale with a huge head and a nice aroma with notes of roasted malt and a nutty sweetness. The flavour is harmonic and full-bodied with notes of roasted malt, caramel, licorice and nuts. The bitterness is low, but delicious. The sweetness is a bit dominant in the long run, but not enough the disturb the overall impression of this nice Brown Ale.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2009 (Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, dark brown with an orange glow. Small, creamy, beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts. Medium body, sweetish, roasted malt notes and a lightly burned edge. Good aroma hops rounds off this beer in a pleasant way. Heavy yeast sediment. Heimdal rarely misses the point, and not here either. Lovely. 161106

Bottled. Fazy dark brown with red edges. Large white foam. Malty aroma of toffee, milky chocolate and cream. Chocolately and nutty flavour with notes of figs. Medium bitter aftertaste of grass. Creamy mouthfeel. Good for being a brown ale.

It is like Limfjordsporter, just milder and with a little less smokiness and a little more sweetness. Lovely creamy mouthfeel and a great body for its 5,4% alc. It is possible that I tasted it a little too cold, though.
