COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: Valhal is a dark ale with a hint of cowberry, honey, roasted malt and wheat malt. The beer they drink in Valhal. Inspiration to this beer comes from The Egtved Girl’s grave (1370 B.C.). She had a fermented drink with her in her grave witch was made from wheat, cowberry, bog myrtle and honey.

Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Gold/amber colour. There are some herbal notes in the aroma - guess that’s the bog myrtle - with a hint of honey. Flavours are more centred on fruit, maybe even some tropical fruit nuances, but the main thrust is acidic, slightly sour, berries. Medium body with quite smooth mouthfeel. Interesting.

(tap) Red-brown, semi hazy, white head. Not any real aroma, sweetish something. English alelike in the mouth; not much of any carbonation. The honey apears slightly in the finish. A watery, yet plesant beer, not at all as herby as I espected.

Maria (8586) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 3, 2007
Ølfestival Horsens 2006. The color is golden/brown and the head is nice and golden. The aroma is fruity with notes of berries and honey. The flavour has sourness from the cranberries and a honey like sweetness, and the cranberries gives a spicy flavour together with the roasted malt. It’s an exciting and nice beer. 1618

Hazy brown beer with a lasting off-white head. Awesome forest aroma of berries and spruce. Sweet flavour, with (not completely pleasant) bitterness from the cowberries.
