3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 madmitch76 (6193) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 13, 2011
22nd September 2011 On tap at Arends Nest, Amsterdam. ABV was stated as 6.5%. Well you don’t find a 12 year old beer on tap every day! Clear red amber in colour. Big pale cream - tan head. Creamy malt nose with a trace of oxidisation. Smooth palate, a creamy feel with fine carbonation. Sweet lacto malt dominates. Some nuts and a trace of coca cola. Finishes with a crabonated bite and some sweet red candy. Bloody good for it’s age and quite drinkable!

From tap at Arendsnest. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malty. Rather hoppy, bitter and dry roasted malty flavoured. Bitter, dark roasted and dry malty flavoured. Dry and bitter finish.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 3, 2005
(Bottle 30 cl) 6,5% ABV in my version. Very dark amber, clear and filtered without much head. weak, malty nose. Quite full-bodied from the dark malts with a distinct, bitter finish. But a bit low in both aromas and flavours - I miss the fruity esters, if this is indeed an ale. 220699

And again a little bit better then their earlier edit’s.
