I would drink this over your standard fair of craptastic brews (budweiser, coors, molsen) That doesnt make it tasty, I would rather drink water. This almost clear beer tastes like a flat skunked pilsner. The best thing I would say about this beer is that they make interesting television commercials.

A lot of people are confusing this with Heineken extra cold. This stuff ( in the UK at least ) is old school. Long before the standard 5% ABV came along. In those days I am sure Heineken was called Heineken export. Infinitely worse than the current Heineken . This was weak and watery. Many offered it was skunky ....it wasn’t even that to be honest it was just weak and bland.

Had 6 of these during my trip through the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam. Cold, refreshing and light. Other than that, I cannot recommend. Mass produced, skunky and light.

Beer 34 Summer 2006 trip in Europe. Drank on 7/5/06 at the Heinken Experience in Amsterdamn. It was called Heinken extra cold, but I don’t know if this is it or not. This brew was garbage.

God! I really didn’t expect to find this here! I’m quite ashamed to say that this was my favourite brew at one time, in my defence it was a LONG time ago, and I was just about to discover the delights of cask conditioned beer. Having tasted it more recently, well about 10 years ago (Yes! this is another retro rate from a while back) I remember it as being....well!....crap!

On tap at Kobalt. Have also tried the "Heineken Extra Cold" served at 0 degrees. Very good. Better than most pilseners. Decent head. Bit of a taste.

Hey. I think you can "experience" something that is basically like this nonsense on tap at the Heineken "Experience" in Amsterdam. They had it on tap as "Heineken Extra Cold." Basically a frozen tap handle and other gimmicky frozen stuff made to serve the beer extra cold, Maybe that doesn’t count as cold filtered Heineken but I don’t care ’coz I think it’s funny and wanna rate my Heineken extra cold. So anyway, on tapp this stuf was indeed fresh and exrea cold. The frozen tap handle was self renewing and one of many pointless gimmicks in the heineken experience which only serves to amuse dumb people and display how flithily rich heineken is. It tastes super clean, has a good fresh lager flavor, some good hop, definitely is some corn in here though the museum does not acknowledge that, you never see the actual brewery on the "experience" because it is no longer here in A’dam.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2005 I think it’s now been withdrawn from the UK market. I always found it somewhat skunky and over-carbonated and preferred other cheap lagers to this one. I struggled to finish a can of this. Can’t say I’m missing it.
