pours a big retaining tan head and deep red color. Aroma is mild dark malt. Taste is some sweet dark malt-molasses/some chocolate and licorice, bready, dark fruit-plum/cherry, faint hops. Thin mouth feel at finish. Medium body. Some doppelbock-like character. OK carbonation.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 faroeviking (8805) - HAITI - FEB 14, 2007
Bottle with 4.9% alc. Deep brown colour with a nice light brown head. Bit sweet aroma of roasted malts and some chocolate. The flavour has a good bit roasty maltiness, bit of chocolate, caramel. The finish is sweet with some bitterness. Earlier Rating: 1/22/2007 Total Score: 3 Dark Heinies...those were the days drinking loads of this brew. Nice dark brown colour with a good lasting medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, slight chocolate. Good malty flavour with caramel, some raisins, dark chocolate. Roasty sweet finish. A pretty good tasting beer. Among the best Heineken beers.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 bhensonb (7589) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 6, 2007
Aroma of dark carmel. Dark mahogany color with a whitish head that left rapidly. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is roasted caramel with light hop. Fairly bland, but it has a decent taste. I’d rather have a good IPA, but this is a good drink. Better than many dunkels (not that this is one, it is just a pretty good dark beer).
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 hopscotch (7535) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 12, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2004 Sparkling clear, ruby lager with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. Very light milk chocolate in the aroma and flavor. Weak and watery. Well-balanced, but so is club soda. Light-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, watery finish.

Bottled, 330ml, pasteurised. Dark brown, reddish with gassed head. A beer with a boiled veg background and a sweet body, quite watery on the palate. There is a maize like quality in the flavour and tart finish. Not my sort of beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Tmoney99 (7300) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 19, 2007
Bottle from Party Source. Poured clear brown with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate roasted malt aroma. Medium body. Medium sweet toasted flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Sweet drinkable beer.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 13, 2005
Reddish brown lager which overflowed of my bottle, yield a thick compact moka head in the glass, collapsing to oblivion. Some of this will remain on my carpet until next wash. Sweet caramel and wet dog hair in aroma. In mouth, nutty caramel in mouth, with very little body, short aftertaste, some metallic hops slightly noted. Watery and boring. Bought in Potsdam, NY, 6 months ago, for 1$.
