This actually surprised me very much. It poured a nice clear dark brown with an off-white head. The taste was very malty, not too complex, but just the way I enjoy it. Definitely recommended, and a great beer to enjoy any time or with any food.

An American Dark Lager, brewed in Europe. That’s interesting. Anyways, it’s not really that dark. Darker than regular Heineken. It’s reddish. It’s goodish.

Heineken Dark has a medium, creamy, tan head and a very dark reddish-brown appearance, with moderate carbonation. The aroma is of malt and some sort of cream or milkiness. Taste is unusual; very malty, with some sort of bread flavor that probably is due to the wheat component. Mouth-feel is fairly heavy, and Heineken Dark finishes smooth. Overall, I found this to be an unusual and interesting lager. I highly recommend giving this a taste.

Not bad! The bottle I had yielded no head and was a bit flat, but bubbled nicely. Good flavor and less hoppy then the green bottle stuff.

This beer has a huge head. I actually really liked it, which is surprising because their regular isnt my favorite. I was definitely glad I gave it a try.

not a bad beer. i’m a bit of a fan of dark beers though, so perhaps i’m biased. i took my first sip of this a bit skeptically, thinking that heineken probably wouldn’t be able to do a dark beer well, but was fairly pleased with it. after a six pack, i was even more pleased...

After having the regular Heineken lager and liking it, the Special Dark was a great experience. Somewhat sweet and smooth, it's a lot better than the standard lager. Reminds me some of Newcastle.
