Had from bottle from Total Wine and More. Didn’t even know Heineken made a dark lager...pours a dark, but clear brown with a good tan head. Aromas are faint, roasted malts and toffee. Taste is better than I expected. Starts toasty with a clean, malty finish. Just a slightly bitter finish that lingers for a few seconds. Enjoyable, crisp, clean, drinkable. A pleasant surprise.

Dark brown with off-white head. Faintly sweet aroma. Taste is kind of sweet, watery. Not very interesting.

Bottle @ home. Pours a clear, reddish brown appearance with an initially large, brown head that dissipates pretty quickly. Dark toffee/caramel malty, bland lager aroma. Fairly light bodied for the style. Light caramel malty, light chocolate, earthy flavor. Not favorable but not very good either.

Pours dark with a tanned head. Not to shabby, some sweet roasted malts, a little watery.

Smooth and refreshing sweet malty dark lager, much better than I expected. Light body and with a slightly bitter finish.

Thanks to Sean for this. Imagine if you had a beer that tasted just like Heineken but dark. Same sort of sweet flavor that Heineken has. A little roasted maltiness but not very much. Serving: Bottle

Haven’t seen this beer in years, and never in Europe. Very sweet, but not so much it can’t be enjoyed. Deep red color, virtually no aroma.

Golden brown color. Malty nose, pleasant. Clean unchallenging attack and finish. A very easy to drink brown beer.

Tasted from bottle into standard pint glass. Poured a clear, dark reddish brown color with moderate off-white head which dissipated fairly quickly, leaving little lace. Aromas of grain, candy, roasted barley, no late hops, some faint fruity esters. Flavor was very malty-sweet, only slight hops bitterness, extremely roasty and dry. Light body, average carbonation, somewhat watery mouthfeel. Crisp, dry finish, no real aftertaste. Some of the "musky" Heineken hops would actually add something here. Pretty decent overall. The website lists the ingredients as barley, hops, water and yeast (no adjuncts.) It’s definitely a German-style lager, so shouldn’t it be categorized as a Dunkel instead of American Dark Lager?
