12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear brown with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first two sips and left light lace. The aroma is laden with toffee along with a bit of burnt sugar. The flavor is similar with an overabundance of toffee along with some burnt sugar. Mild bitterness at the finish. I like sweet beers, but this one doesn’t quite do it for me.

Bottle courtesy of Ekstedt shared @ Ekstedts bock-tasting. Pours clear dark amber with a rather small off-white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is very sweet with artificial smells of banana and blueberry candy combined with a gluelike smell. This in turn is added to a backbone of slight smells of caramel, bread and grass. Taste is sweet with caramel, old bread, earthy hops and sweet fruits like banana. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet and thin to medium bodied. Finish is sweet with banana bread and hints of grass.

Dark autumn orange. Thick head to start leaves some retention elements and a bit of lacing. Sweet nose of dark fruit, candy sugar, butterscotch and a touch of mint. Mmm. An overload of sweet in the palate, toffee-centric. English take on the bok? Not bad.

Brown reddish clear beer with average frothy diminishing head. Aroma is caramel, taste is very sweet (too much), flat carbonation, moderate bitterness. Not anything I would want a 2nd time.

Bottle @ home. Clear, deep red-orange appearance with a big, light brown head. Slightly nutty, caramel malty lager, bready aroma. Fairly rich toffee/caramel malty, grassy, hay flavor. Ok.
