’Red Star’ is a rich, smooth lager. Although you may experience a small bit at first, it gets very smooth-amost like a cream ale. Cost is a little high for my liking, so I would rate a 2 for cost.

I used to like this stuff, because I thought it made you look cool to drink it. Heineken is just a bitter, boring beer. There are much better imports out there for the money. However, it goes down easy, it is consistently the same taste every time drank, and is a favorite of many.

The difference is night and day between the Heineken we get in the States, and the Heineken you get in Amsterdam. My rating reflects the stuff there, which is quite good. Here its always skunked and has lots of strange, out of place flavors. I’ve heard they take an extremely long time to ship in unrefrigerated tanker ships. I would still take it over an American macrobrew (Bud/Miller/Coors/etc), but its not that much better.
If any of you make it to Amsterdam, try it there and I promise you will be surprised!

I drink it over the major macrobrews when nothing else is available, but there’s incredibly little going on in the bottle. What they lack in flavor they make up for in market saturation, but it’d be nice if this beer actually tasted like, well, anything.

Probably the first ’world’ beverage. You can get it in all but the worst Western establishments. I order it over Bud.

Had the version contract-brewed by Cerveceria Costa Rica multiple times. More bitter than other Costa Rican brews (except Bavaria Gold) and not as pleasant as Bavaria Gold. Skunky smell but I’d rather have this than Bud. I’m fortunate most parties around this area (central PA) serve Yuengling.
