Unfortunately, the friend who bought the six-pack mildly ridiculed me when I reached for a glass, so I had it straight out of the bottle. Didn't smell like much and didn't taste like much except an initial bready smoothness. Maybe there are some nuances waiting behind the bread, and further sips will bring these out? Nope. Instead, the skunk came out as the beer warmed. Next time, I'll buy.

While being faced with a choice of drinking no beer, Heineken, or a US macro, I’d always choose Heineken. That’s what I did last night, and what I got was a nondememo Euro Lager with no overly offensive characteristics. Pale clear color with bubbly artificial carbonation. Thin white head is very short lived. Aroma is clean to grassy with little touch of hops, and due to the bottle having been protected no skunk. Taste is dominated by grainy malts, but is not sweet like a US brewed macro lager. Body is also more substantial than the big three US products and does not project a watered down cheap image. A note of what I think was fusel alcohol became pronounced as the beer warmed up, resulting in the mouthfeel becoming harsh. Drinkability is quite good and beats the other choices mentioned above any day.

this is a doable macro beer in my opinion. It is after all the number 1 import for europe. When its nice and cold it isn't so bad

another "green bottle" beer. very tin like flavor to it. much better in the tap, i said much better, i didnt say good. it is way overrated in my opinion. i will only get this at the bar if its the last one on my list(so i can keep away from bud or miller or whatnot). dont buy into the media hype, very overrated skunky beer. i think you would be better off saving a couple bucks and getting hollandia. just my 2 cents

Pale yellow with small white head. Sweet light malt aroma. Taste is very typical "American standard" or lager: metallic malt and very small hint of hops. Very watery.

16 oz. can. What was I thinkin'? Pours light, clear golden with a small white head that falls quickly to a ring of bubbles around the rim of the glass. Mild malty aroma with just a hint of the skunk. Flavor is sweet and thin with a metallic hoppy finish. Light body and significant carbonation. To think, I once believed the Heineken myth and the advertising that would have us believe this is a quality beer...

The overall flavor and aftertaste is slightly bitter and weak, yet I still find myself buying a six pack when there are no good imports to chose from.

The only reason IM drinking this is that it was the most decent beer at the concert last night. Bodily evacuation fluid colour with skunkorama nose. The skunk sprays in your mouth initailly, but then leaves to yield some of the malts and nice dry hops... i still would like to try a fresh heineken to know what is its real taste.

I hate this crap. It does have some taste to it, unfortunately the taste is that of tin foil with a minimal beer flavor. Another green-bottle skunk-brew with which to fill my trash can. Anyone know why all the green-bottles taste like aluminum?? The excessive metallic taste is far to common between them to be a coincidence.

This beer is decent, but nothing to go out of your way for. Like so many other beers out there, it just lacks distinction. 'Unsurpassed clarity' it says in the commercial description - I heartily disagree.
