Typical light golden color with a small white head. The aroma was almost non-existent...some slight malty sweetness. The flavor wasn't all that bad...some decent malty sweetness...no skunk, but some not-so-good hops bitterness. Watery, thin feel with too much carbonation.

Can. Skunky smell and sour skunky taste. Thin watery body. Nasty. I can't think of s single good thing to say about this beer.

Green bottle is mistake number one, followed by extreme carbonation which led to an interesting and disappointing experience. It was OK, it was expensive, and it left me underwhelmed. I do not know why people spend the money on this product, perhaps it is a signal beer that tells the world that the drinker has little to no clue about beer. Skunky finish, and over carbonation make Heineken very pedestrian and mediocre.

Incredible that a so bad tasting beer can be so popular and well known over the world!

Status symbol. Hey look at me I drink Heineken. Way too Banana Republic for me.
Did they actually put skunk excretion in the bottle?

I just don't understand why this lager is priced higher -- and rated higher -- than any other swill, which is all it is. The only difference between it and Coors: $1 a 24 oz., and I am not one to waste my money.

This is a decent beer at a very high price that doesn't add up to me. It seems to be more of a status beer than anything else

There are better beers for way less money. This always struck me as something that frat-boy types can talk about in bars and try to sound impressive as though it's the bee's knees and the most extra special wonderful brew ever created. Fuck it, this is skunky and cheap.

This was always the beer to have when we went for an imported 6-pack. It is interesting that is rates so poorly given that, literally, 10 to 15 years ago this would have been a benchmark beer. Comments about it skunkiness or negative hop aroma are related to its state at purchase, not in its overall quality.
Look, this beer deserves respect as a grandaddy if nothing else.
