2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Two 12 oz bottles while waiting for AAA tow truck. Been a couple of years since I had one of these. Dinged for green bottle. Nicely hopped, served cold, this goes down good on a warm afternoon.

Es la cerveza estandar. No esta mal, pero tampoco es una maravilla, eso si la encontraras en cualquier sitio

I'd rather have this than a bud or something cheap like that, but still a below average somewhat skunky beer with good advertising. Nothing special about this one.

Has a unique taste to it, it's a the a heineken taste that I have never really seemed to catch on the tongue. Looks guds with a light aroma. It has big following which makes me anjoy it at times.

On that rare occaision in the states when you can find this lager unexposed to light, it's not too bad. In fact, you see the balanced flavor that the maker intended. Sharp up front with a leveling maltiness to wind it out. Unfortunately, most Heineys that I've put my lips on taste a little skunky (hee, hee).

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle – Poured a blond type brew with minimal head with below standard retention. Aroma is in part skunky with some touch of malt. Carbonation is below average. Taste is really light with again that bit of skunky taste coming out. Overall, this is not a great beer but [probably on the same level as those American macros and I also believe we don’t get the same version they produce overseas which is probably a shame.

Not a phenomenal lager, although far superior to Canadian and American macro-brews. Simply, my favorite beer to drink. Aroma undeniably "skunky;" head remarkably thin. Mouth-feel is refreshing, if strong and hoppy, with a distinctly soured aftertaste. Complements pizza and chinese food well.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2004 It's too easy to bash this beer. Heineken isn't anything special - fake feeling carbonation, mild flavour with the slightest hint of hops - but there's certainly a lot worse out there. Compare Heineken to your standard Canadian or American macro and you'll see what I mean. At least Heineken will remind you of a good beer.

Bottled, Pasteurised. Pale yellow with bubbly head. Pungent aroma before even getting close to the nose, had to fight past this to get a carbonated mess of a malt beer. My tongue was attacked throughout the beer leaving a sour aftertaste. Not for beer lovers I think.

I simply hate to do this. This review is not a fluke. Pours yellow, quick dissipating head, without a trace of lace after a few minutes. Beer shouldn't smell this bad, besides the "skunk", it smells like I lit a match in the room. Crispy snap in the mouth, with the skunk just about destroying anything going on underneath and lingering around just long enough to kill any finish. It is one of the worst beers I have ever had. If I can't finish the glass...well...it's horrid IMO not just "awful." A mistake and an insult
