People can dislike this one all they want, but it was the first beer I ever loved and still enjoy it today. It does have a strong smell and taste, and is pretty bitter, but it's those things that make me like it so much. To me, the bitterness and strong odor are "good" in a way that they're not in other beers that I dislike for the same reasons. Hard to explain. Still a favorite, nevertheless.

I had to rate this beer 5/5 because it’s my #1 beer of choice, i love this beer, perfect on a hot day, mornings, and it provides that crisp taste that i need, Fantastic Beer!

The best beer in the world. Perfectly smooth and sweet taste with just a perfect sharpness to it. Delicious. Best served moderately cold. "Skunked" Heinekens are not representative of all Heinekens. It is the exception, not the rule. In the Keg cans you will not get skunked Heineken.
In the 80’s, it was the yuppy beer and I shunned it. It was overpriced. It had an image I hated. Then when a bar ran a $2 Heineken special, I drank it because it was cheap, image be damned. And I quickly realized this is one of the absolute best beers in the world. Yes, they have had problems with skunkiness. Some years back, it seems they made a concerted effort to eliminate skunked beers from being sold. For a while, every Heineken I had was fresh. They seem to have let this go in the past few years, but still most of them that I get are fresh, although I get a few skunky ones. It’s worth the risk. A non-skunked Heineken is perfect. Easy drinking and tasty with just perfect bit of bitter finish. Crisp, cool, smooth yet sharp. I’m having one right now.
