Gpnterojd (130), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Mar 12, 2008 Pours clear gold with a yellow head. Aroma has corn and faint orange. Taste has a small malt presence with slightly more hops than a standard lager, giving it a bit of flavour. Above average (for a lager). Very little aftertaste.
bitbucket (1455), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 7, 2008 Green bottle served at Hector’s in Kirkland. I’ve drunk a bunch of greenies along the way, but never rated one before. Pours clear light gold with a frothy white head. Mostly grassy nose with flowers a little bread. I got lucky - this bottle hasn’t been light-struck. Medium-light body and carbonation. Lightly sweet bready taste. Sort of a stealth finish. This seems to be a one dimensional pale lager for the hops-averse. Not a bad substitute for water with a meal. BlockBrew (48), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 Basically a macro light lager with a little more body and flavor. I enjoy this more than other large pale beers. johnnysmoke (32), Texas, USA Jul 4, 2008 Makes for a great rinse after brushing your teeth. Never understood the hype around this import. Must have the same ad company as bud and coors. tagz (284), USA Jul 4, 2008 bottle. aroma and taste of skunked hops, hay, and corn. fizzy palate. had a couple - the first wasn’t bad but the light struck hops and corn flavors wore on me. two was more than enough... ugh. iowaherkeye (1360), Back in Iowa City!, Iowa, USA Jul 3, 2008 12oz bottle, no date. Clear amber yellow with a one finger fizzy eggshell head that faded to a thin ring after about 10 seconds. Sweet malt and a bit of corn make up the aroma. Flavor has some straight bitterness up front with no discernible hop presence, though fades quickly in the clean finish. Sweet malts and corn are again in the flavor with not much else to speak of. Burps just a hint of sulfur--the only skunkiness I got from this bottle, which is one of the better bottles I’ve had. Watery body with light to moderate prickly carbonation. Inoffensive, but pretty bland.
