Nice hoppy, floral nose. Golden with a thin head. Sweet and easy intro with a mildly-carbonated, buttery mouthfeel, and a mellow, somewhat bitter finish.

This beer is a very good example of the style. The key also to this beer is to drink it fresh as possible. It is currently March 7th and that is one day before Mardi Gras 2011. Pours out a light colored orange with a one inch thick white head that diminishes to a ring of white around my glass. Aroma is full of malts!!! Bready, doughy, and slightly nutty smells fill the air with a tender wisp of grain at the end and a touch of sweetness, very nice actually. Taste is malt forward, as expected, light caramel and dough hit the tounge first followed by toasted cereal. Light carbonation yet still a medium bodied beer. Hops are lightly grassy and finish just crisp enough. Actually I thought this beer was rather good, I know I am very lucky to get this fresh as in 5-6 months the beer will probably be degenerated severely. Regardless very good Helles, very good. This is a lot coming from me because normally I don’t like this brewery at all, but they have something nice right here.
