3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewery. Probably my least favorite of the flight. Dark brown color with a tan head. All of the beers made here look awesome. Taste is malty and sweet, little bit of roasted caramel malts and a small amount of hops. Not bad, but its a little sweet for me.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of frothy large sized bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium caramel hop aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of Vienna malt velvety smoothness wheat mild hops dough and caramel. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft at City Lights Cafe. Pours brown without much of a head. Undifferentiated fruitiness on the nose and tongue. I’m not getting much nut of toffee notes here. Finishes clean. Eh!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I like this. The aroma is toasty malt with floral hops. The beer is dark cola brown with a thin head. The taste is malty with cola and floral hop notes. The body is medium with a slight acid tartness in it. Good.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
7/14/11 tap at dillsboro bbq....
Murky brown. Really unnatractive and dirty looking. no head.
a+f=Nutty, wheaty, toasty, donut-y and fried...plus a very strange acidity akin to a mix of balsamic/red wine vinegar and soured milk. Really weird but it pairs with food very well... Acidity matches. On its own its gross but, with food, it is quite good. Bitterish finish.
2.0 on its own. 3.0 w/hushpuppies. fuck yea, hushpuppies!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Nick & Nates, Sylva NC on 10 July 2006. Dark brown in colour. No head to speak of. Malty feel throughout. Quite a lot of toffee in the flavour. Rather lightweight mouthfeel. Didn’t really grab me but I’m not particularly fond of the style anyway.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Pours a clear, walnut-brown body with a slender, bone white head.
Smell: Aroma of well-ground nuts, light chocolate, a spoonful of mild coffee, and a background hint of tannic plum skins.
Taste: Dusky while not profuse maltiness of nuts and cocoa powder (which eventually slides to a firmer chocolate taste). Mildly sweet. Minor influence and no more than a hint of bitterness from a small dose of earthy hops. Nutty, dry malty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation.
Drinkability: Middleworld is, at best, a middle-of-the-road brown. I’d prefer a slight boost in the body of the beer, but it’s got a nice flavor.
