Bottle from Ploegsteert beer warehouse, Belgium. I used to love this beer but it has certainly changed over time. An orange/amber coloured pour with a large white head. Malty, spice Belgian aroma. Tastes malty, spice, fruity, sweet, slightly sour too. This used to be a cracking beer IMO about 10 years ago, what the hell happened to it?

I think this one has been wrongly stored, has notes of meat, bouillon. Meaty and unpleasent aroma, meat. Flavor is moderate sweet, notes of boullion, soup.

330ml bottle (Garre, Bruges)
5 Hardly getting any aroma, served a little cold
4 Rich orange, slightly hazy. Large rocky off-white head
6 Sweet honey retronasals, some toffee. Slightly dull and caramalt-oriented, lacking crispness in the flavour.
3+ Sweet palate, crisp carbonation. Some quite nice caramel in the finish.
12 Adequate, but a bit too sweet. Spicing can barely break through.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Sharp and tangy beer (but not lambic wince inducing). Good depth of flavour with some wheat beer and amber beer characteristics. Good stuff!
