COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

50cl bottle, surprisingly @local 79102 Reformhaus (random visit). - Aroma is a very odd sweet, Radler-like artificial lemonade fruitiness. Taste is more interesting, if all over the place: sweet, quality dry malts, fresh&indeed "young" hops with a pleasant bitter finish, quality-popcorn graininess, dry palate. Light, refreshing, pure, confused adolescent Kölsch. (pedolupulo mode off). Any beer that markets itself as "eco/green" and using only natural ingredients puts itself on a pedestal and up for extra scrutiny and forces its competitors to come forth with a certificate of suppliers, but in the claustrophobically narrow world view of Kölsch, I could imagine this is not necessarily an unwelcome trend.

Test vom 19.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,12,10,10,10 - 10,50

Half-litre flip-top: best before May 2013, poured into a ’Gaffel Kolsch’ glass three times @ home on 16 Nov 2012. Typical Kolsch look: clean, clear and golden, large white head which tries to stay around on each pour (not your typical Kolsch really then, because the head usually buggers off before I’ve even seen it!). The nose and taste are semi-sweet biscuity malty with hints of cereal and hops. No great flavours here, but when do you get those in a Kolsch? I don’t dislike the style: there is nothing to dislike, I just wish the delicate flavours would grow some balls one day and surprise me! This is just above your average Koln brew in my eyes, more for it’s head than flavours to be honest.

Swing-top bottle 50cl. Odd label promises an organic Kölsch. Surpisingly low carbonated, pale clear filtered brew. Slightly malty and hoppy taste, a bit watery but quaffable.

Pale yellow color with a nice white head. Malty aroma as well as the flavor. The finish is refreshing with almost no bitterness, light body easy drinkability.

Reasonably generic Kolsch, not the best imaginable, but certainly not the worst. Pours quite golden, a slight haze. Wheaty, sweet aroma. Quite a dry afterrtaste.

Pigs Ear. Bottle. Clear gold beer. Strong wheaty malt nose. Soft palate with moderate carbonatrion. Rich pale malts with a bit of orangey hop. Not bad.

Fazit: Noch ok. Test vom 28.2.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche
