flip-top bottle. Clear glassy gold with exactly one stream of rising bubbles. Aroma is very sweet. Yields a lot, though, and has a nice biscuit character. Soft carbonation is nice. Flavors are nice too with simple sweet cereal grains, and good juicy apple flavors.

This Kolsch seems to have had a bit more flavor than other I’ve tried. Almost a bit of yeast??? Something sneaking in the back of my mouth was a bit sweet. Of the few Kolsch I’ve tried I liked this one the best.

Draught, 4.5% at the brewpub. Clear yellow colour. Good stable white head. The flavour starts off with a nice maltiness. The finish is slightly chalky, but quite subtle. Low bitterness, nice and clean.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 3fourths (6954) - Straßgiech, Bavaria, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2008
500ml bottle bought at some grocery in Munich. Pours a semi-dark orange color, darker and dirtier than expected. Nose of apple scented fruity yeast esters, big on the red apple notes and dough, similar the yeast presence in steam beer. Flavor is more dough, apples, with a big, fruity ale yeast character. Body is medium thin. Overall okay, below average, lacks crispness, too fruity, a bit strange.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 asheft (2264) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 31, 2008
[bottle]
Plenty of crisp 2-row in the nose, with a touch of noble hops and citrus and pine notes. Bright, dark straw colour with lasting white flanel blanket cover. Sweetish and grainy malt flavour with some notes of citrus that seem to come from hops. Appropriate bitterness works well with the medium carbonation level. Light to medium body and almost clean finish.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Fine foam. A little bit drier then other Kölsch, very drinkable. Not bad!

Fresh malt aroma, hops are fine too, yellow, pours a small white head. Flavour is a hops/malt marriage, like homemade bread. Sweet, tasty, too easy to drink, wish there was more. Very good. Thanks Radek Kliber.

Pale blonde, clear, fair white head. Unassuming hay-like malts through and through. More hoppy in the nose than in mouth where a fair bit of sweetness remains and fails at being completely cut by the pointy, spritzy carbonation that feels a bit too much and reduces drinkability.
