Draft at Capone’s and Craft. Pours turbid dark straw toward brown with off-white clingy head. Nose is heavy resiny hops, caramel malt, vinous fruit. Tastes dense on the palate, complex, with big hops, a nice malt balance, and a lot of flavor hints popping around. Your eager mouth and tongue will welcome every drop of this libation.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2014 Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a murky orange-apricot color with a huge fluffy orange-beige head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet grapefruit, orange and pine. The flavor was tangy and sweet grapefruit, orange, pine, sugar and a malty undertone. Long tangy and bitterish hoppy finish. Moderately full bodied. Alcohol well contained. Solid.

2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Had this at the bcktown monaca, a really nice place, especially in the afternoon. Cloudy hazy bubbly looking thing that is the color of vanilla yellah. Very attractive fer sure. Initially the buds tell me it is fruity and hoppy and the olfactory is perfumy aroma, very overwhelming. Hoppy bitter experince is awaiting the taster let me tell you, wew. Lubricating oily palate. This brew is evolving; nice fruity flavor then big green hoppy chewing on grapefruit rinds: enjoy! Impressive example of the style, rrrrrrrrr. Like IPA? Ignore these numbers.

On tap at Mad Mex (North Hills). Great fresh hop aroma, sweet and grassy with apricot and pear. Some pine and herb notes, too. Hazy medium amber with thin white lacing head. Medium body with medium to heavy carbonation. Starts nice and sweet with apricot and pear notes. Light brown sugar and caramel, too. Sweet bitter finish with nice lasting bitter after that’s not too harsh.

Growler from Pinocchio’s. Clear golden yellow with a meringue head. Nose is pastry dough and orange peel; floral then dank and funky. Medium body; oily with a soft buzz, aggressively bitter. Taste is orange peel, toffee, pine and eucalyptus. Interesting but a bit coarse.
