FROTHINGSLOSH (5188) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Sampled on draft at Dís in Monroeville this beer poured an orange-amber color with a huge creamy orange-white head that faded and left incredible lacing. The aroma was sweet sugar, pineapple, grapefruit and fruit cocktail. The flavor was bitter and tangy with intense sweet pineapple and grapefruit and fruit cocktail syrup underneath. The finish was long and sweet with lingering fruit cocktail. Fairly full bodied. Excellent.

This poured a nice dark amber to red colorw ith a beige head. Aroma was lots of fruity and floral hops, with mild grain notes too. Flaovr was much the same, very fruity and lightly floral, reminded me a lot of Two Hearted on draft. Very good stuff and a promising start for this brewery.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013 On tap at the house of 1000 beers. From the bottom of the keg, it was kicking as this was poured. Clear yellow with a big head. Smells like an IPA, a little dull perhaps. Very on style bitter impressions on the taste buds. No co2. Long bitter chewing on green grapefruit rinds finish. On style but a little too much for a lager lover. However, if you like IPA or even double IPA, ignore my humanistic numbers and give this a try; its right up your bitter ip puckering alley!

On tap at Burgatory. Fresh hoppy grassy nose with neutral fruit sweetness. Dark amber clear with thin white lacing head. Medium body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts fairly dry with huge hop flavor and bitterness. Big bitter finish with alcohol warming and a bit of neutral fruity character. Big bitter after.

On tap, pours copper orange with medium to large frothy head. Aroma and flavor are caramel and biscuit malt, pineapple and orange hops, and some other sweet notes. Finish is pretty English in nature with some bitterness and toasty malt. Medium body.

Draft at Mad mex monroeville. Pours orange with half an inch of white foam that leaves some lacing. Fairly big pine forest notes on the nose. Bigger hop presence on the tongue but thereís also malt for balance. Clean finisher. Very nice!

On tap. Pours a clear amber orange with a thick white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, caramel malt. Flavor of sweet, sticky grassy hops, hop oils, citrus, and caramel malt. A pretty hearty IPA, decent sweetness and fairly sticky. Ok upfront but the palate starts to wear on you. 7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5)

Amber bordering on copper, clear, with a frothy just off white foam . The aroma is citrusy, grapefruit, some light toast, sweet malt, toffee and caramel. The taste is again sweet malts, candy, but dominated by fruity, citrusy, grapefruit hop flavor. Not a hugely bitter finish which is fine by me. This is a fantastic IPA. Will definitely be on the lookout for more from these guys. Pint on draft at Fat Headís and dare I say, it was better than the Troegs/Fat Headís IPA collaboration I had on the same night. As good as any of Fat Headís IPAs which I think is saying quite a bit.
