DWG; Bottle 33 cl. Pours dark brown to black with a large, lasting, creamy, lacing and tan head. Nose is heavy roasted malt and coffee, dark fruit with grass notes. Taste is moderate sweet and bitter with a lasting, warming, coffee finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft.

Svart med medium høyde på skummet. Aromaen består av lakris, mørk/brent malt, kaffe samt sjokolade/kakao. Muligens vanilje også. Bittersøt kaffe i smaken, sammen med noe lærpreg og antydninger til lakris. Medium/tykk konsistens. Nesten litt tørr, det stikker bak i ganen.

Bottle. An almost clear, dark brown beer topped by a diminishing finger-thick light beige head. The aroma is dominated by the coffee, nice coffee that is, with a pleaseant touch of dark chocolate in the back. There’s some burnt down bonfire and licorice as well. It’s medium bodied and soft on the palate, with some alcohol warmth. Quite dry, and a little bit low on carbonation. Coffee and dark chocolate flavor with a pleasant bitterness of both the hoppy and coffee-ish kind. There’s some grassy, fruity notes in the far back, and also hints of raisins and new leather. Lasting finish with coffee and dark chocolate. Overall, a nice one indeed, but it feels a bit one dimensional. Am a bit sorry I didn’t have any dark chocolate to go with this one as I’m sure that will heighten the experience, but I’m quite content anyway. 140918

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Svart. Høyt tett skum som etterlater litt lacing. God kaffearoma. Deretter blir det bare kaffe med en anelse lakris i ettersmaken.

Sample from bottle at Vecturamesse. Notes of thin coffee in both aroma and flavour, one-dimensional. Thin mouthfeel for its strength. Way too expensive. Will re-rate if I get a full bottle, but doubt that I will pay for it myself.

Bottle. Pours a black body with a small off-white head. Nose is cascades of coffee tones; mocha, espresso, lungo forte, a bit of regular filter coffee and hints of chocolate, nuts and brownies. Taste is dark chocolate, espresso, mocha, nuts, brownies and hints of leather and caramel. Medium to full body, medium to soft carbonation. Quite a lovely coffee stout, loads of complexity and rather smooth nevertheless. Well done from Helsingborg, a brewery I haven’t been familiar with before.

Svart med fingerhøyt lys brunt skum. Kaffe, kakao... kaffemocca faktisk. Bitter kaffe og mørk sjokolade i smak. Kort og heftig ettersmak

330ml bottle, batch 165, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Pours a solid, dense, tan-coloured head slowly fading. Rings of lace down the glass. Opaque black coloured body sustained by a deep ruby shade. Inviting coffee beans on the nose joined by grainy chocolate. Savoury taste of coffee grounds, earth, and chocolate added by dark fruity bitterness to the ending. Slightly roasted. Hidden alcohol. Very smooth on the swallow. Quite easy to drink. Autumn pleasure, indeed. (Tromsø, 06.09.2014).

Smak och doft av choklad, malt, kaffe, torkad frukt med rostade toner och aningar av aska och citrus. Mörk, rund, välbalanserad, med en aning god syrlighet. Lätt kropp men fin beska. Väldigt trevliga smaker som jag önskar vore lite kraftfullare i denna fina kaffestout.
