tfredvik (1260) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 25, 2015
Pours a black body with a very large, creamy, medium brown head that is so dense that when I gently pour beer onto it, it actually takes some time before the liquid manages to penetrate the thick pillow. Lots of foam is left on the glass. Strong aroma of coffee, ash and miscellaneous roasted notes. The strong flavour is also dominated by coffee and ash, in addition I get alcohol, some light yeasty and slightly unclean notes in the back, and traces of fruits. Full-bodied, dry and with a moderate carbonation. Moderate sweetness and moderate to heavy bitterness. I really liked this one!

Skinnyviking (7433) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 21, 2015
Bottle at the courtesy of Rune. Medium high creamy lasting light brown head. Thought it was black but held against the light I could see that it was in fact very dark red brown. Not surprisingly the aroma is of coffee but on top of it comes wood and a sour note that I cannot figure out. Highly carbonated roasted malt coffee caramel flavor with a nice hops bitterness and a bit of vanilla and a bit of liquorice whith I now think is what I could smell. Long dry and bitter finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours black with a warm tint of red and a creamy and lacing beige head. Sweet coffee roast in the nose. Rich, sweet body, vanilla coffee and a warming alcohol finish. Not a HUGE Imperial Stout but very easygoing. 160115

Light brown huge foam. Black beer. Fluffy pearl beige lacing. Coffee aroma, berry and fruity stuff with gooseberry-hops to the nose. Tastes coffee, cocoa, lingonberries, gooseberries, red apples, chocolate fudge. Nice in the mouth, fruity, well bodied, dry fields. Abv well hidden, normally I fear imperial stouts a bit, but this was a gentle one. May taste better than many confectionery boxes...
