A decent oyster stout. Not as good as the 21st Amendments Oyster, but more intense. Pours a beautiful deep black with a thick creamy head. Smells of oysters and a bit of seawater. Smooth, slightly salty taste. Had on tap at Taps.

In bottle at the French Laundry. Pours with a bit of an out of control tannish head. Aroma of tobacco and slight hint of soy sauce. Nice roasted taste and a good dry finish.

A - Pours a very dark black color with a finger of frothy chocolate colored head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some good lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of milk chocolate malts with some roastiness, minerals, and a touch of coffee. T - Starts off with some roasted chocolate malts with a hint of coffee and a bit of a mineraly flavor. Through the middle, some sweeter milk chocolate flavors come through with a bit more roasted flavor. The finish is a mix of roasted chocolate and coffee with a touch of sweetness and minerals, and a hint of dark fruit. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a roasted and dry finish. D - Very drinkable. Nicely balanced Oyster Stout. Really clean with a nice malt profile.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Taps in Petaluma. Jet black pour with a bubbly cream head. Mild nose - somewhat sweet. Thinner palate. Taste is just an easy drinking sweeter stout - not overly roasty or dry.
