3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the brewery. Head is mostly lasting. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain / cracker), moderately hoppy (herbs). Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Seemed kind of rough in the finish to me, but a fairly bright flowery aroma made it pleasant to sniff. Much better than their Lagerbier, which was loaded with diacetyl on this visit (did not rate).

Bad luck with this one: golden color, white head. Aroma was butter, butter and sherry. Taste was the same. Hope I get the chance to rerate.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
It’s hazy golden with a creamy, white head. The aroma has notes of malt, grain, fruit and light bread. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of malt, caramel, fruit, straw, grain, light hay, and the finish is fairly dry and slightly bitter.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2013 draft at Hennemann in Sambach. hazy rich yellow with a soft white head. vibrant lemon juice and wildflower / lavender perfume nose with a strong juicy German hop character and softer touches of mint and cut field grass. the rind and pith character becomes stronger as the lemon juice seems to subside when it breathes out a bit. very expressive. medium body with filling, creamy, frothy carbonation, fluffing the soft malt before the zingy, tangy, lemon and dandelion hop acids wash the mouth clean. quenching acidity, very minerallic and sulfuric, and quite bitter for a German pils. dry body with only minor yeast noticed in the finish. honey dew and lemon oil and white pepper flavors linger in an oily coating of the mouth. lovely stuff all around. another of these well-hopped German pilsners where the intended audience seems to be non-Germans. let’s hope this trend continues.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(draught at the brewpub) Hazy, golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Herbal hoppy and strawy malty aroma with traces of caramel in the background. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with an almost creamy carbonation. Delicately bready (cara-)malt character with herbal hops and a tinge of iodinic and salty flavours; mildly bitter and dry herbal hoppy finish, again with hints of iodine in the aftertaste. Has some character. 09.VIII.12
