Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, fine turbid, nice head. Starts mild, but not washy, fine malty-yeasty. Fine wheaty, hints of butter cookies. Well balanced finish with mild sweet notes. Not bad!

(bottle) pours a murky amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of butter, pale malts and honey, with hints of floral hops and white bread. flavour is mostly grainy pale malts, raisins and honey, slightly husky, with a light sweetness. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

TAR (2410) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - JUN 13, 2013
Draught at Hennemann, May 2013: Deep gold with blonde hues. Quick, broken head. Agreeable nose of cookie, breadcrust, poundcake, lemon candy, hop spice, and hints of creamed coffee and candied fennel. Soft and lush carbonation. Snappily malty and briskly breadcrusty, initially, with a quite deep browned-bread coarseness. Sublime melanoidin character fills the palate with tremendous succulence. Juicy hop smack mirrors the tongue-lapping lusciousness of the poundcake-laced, cookieish grain. Licorice hoppiness gracefully looms beneath the clean, intricate, well-defined malt. Cleansing flash of bouncy cracker reveals itself at the core. Closes quite juicy and soft, with an understated lemony tang and delicate hop spice trailed by heaps of breadcrust bitterness. A seemingly nondescript version that’s remarkably juicy and perilously drinkable upon closer inspection.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 draft at Hennemann in Sambach. called Zwicklbier dunkel. amber body, lightly hazed and effervescent with a small off-white head. beautiful initial whiff of Munich malt cookie batter and sweet pastry with toasty, minerally. nice firmness. rich and succulent cookie and honey malt showcase. there’s actually some gamey notes and a small corn twang that creeps up as it sits in the glass, but even that is pretty pleasant. this is a Munich malt lager with only a small amount of yeast, and it’s absolutely delicious.

It’s hazy bronze with a huge, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of malt, light yeast and fruit. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of malt, biscuits, light fruit, and the finish is dry with a light bitterness.

Mild herber, stark prickelnder Antrunk. Schwach würzig-getreidig, mäßig gehopft. Zum Ende etwas bitterer, alles in allem viel zu mild. /7/6/7//7
