COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Henney’s we believe that the very best way to make cider is to start with high quality ingredients and to keep the process as simple as possible. This has helped us to win many prestigious awards in recent years. Each autumn, carefully selected, locally grown, varieties of genuine cider apples are milled, pressed and fermented. The resulting cider is then blended and stored through the winter allowing it to mature and develop a rich and mellow flavour. Our finished cider retains the distinctive fruity aromatic character or ripe bittersweet apples whilst being crisp light and refreshing. Sip or quaff, we don’t mind, as long as you enjoy it. Cheers!
A blend of Frome Valley Dry Cider with concentrated apple juice which gives added sweetness and a fruitier flavour.

Bright, light amber with little evident carbonation. Strong, tangy ripe red apple nose with a lot of core and pip. Rounded and full, good body with a very light spritz. Sweet but controlled, good length of ripe tangy apple. Light woody pip and core, but otherwise clean as a whistle. Very refreshing, Really lifts the palate without being cloying. A simple cider, odd as I’m never quite fond of the sweet ones. (50cL, BBE 12/12, Thirsty Camel, Butler)

Bottle @ home- fuck if I know where the fuck I got the fucker. Clear, golden orange appearance with a small, yet large bubbly white head. Fairly sweet, red apple pulpy, somewhat juicy aroma. Sweet, red apple juicy, slightly spicy, easy drinking, alcoholic apple juice flavor. Easy drinking but not all that interesting. Apple juice with booze!

Bottle from Morrisons as Henney’s Apple-sweet Cider. Clear light golden colour, fast disappearing white head. Aroma is slightly sweet apple, apple juice, indeed resembles band-aid. Flavour is sweet apple, medium carbonation, sugary apple juice. Flavour is too sweet for my liking. Sweet and slightly dry finish.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2011 Clear bottle from New Beer(Oh Noes!!) This bottle was hidden I tell ya, hiding on the CLEARANCE rack(that doesn’t seem to be discounted any at that)! :P BB: December... something something... Rounded pint glass. Near freezing. First off, the labeling tricked me into thinking it has a rose tinge to it. Color is a very very fine maple aaa grade syrup, clear as day. Some actual head to ponder, hmmm... Smell is concentrated & bittersweet like ice cider. Actually it smells like royal galas topped off with some tangy kingston blacks, but I don’t think gala apples are grown in England. :P Anyway, rich, with just a little green edge is what I’m thinking. Maybe some cheese? Suds are still there by the way. Taste is so very cherry(I’ve tasted infused beers with less essence). Rich, red, collar-staining apples, along with some stems & leafy greens. As I get more into it, I start to think... tarter cherries & pastry dough. Touch of wood & oxidation way in back. Alcohol seems in check. More cider vinegar as it warms, some vinyl, but also more dry tartness. Tart, while somewhat savory, & still very salivating. Mineral-y, cherry wheat finish. Not quite pie, but totally haunting & worthy of a second bottle if Shelton would ever stop dragging their ass. :P ...And yes I know there is concentrate added after, but realize how many ciders on the market do the same thing & still suck.

Bottle from a Supermarket, Tesco? consumed 25.08.10 Pours mid gold as clear a a bell, medium carbonation. Aroma is mellow, slightly reminiscent of autumn and windfall apples, soft, tiny bit musty and damp. Tastes is sweet but clean and with a soft tang, quite rich and easy going in mouth. Nice stuff, even if it does have added concentrated apple juice to sweeten. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly yeasty (barnyard), with notes of apple, brown sugar, light note of band-aid. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation. Too sweet for my tastes, but otherwise pretty decent.
