Clear with a nice ruby glow; decently frothy head, lasting with some lace patterns. Mouthfeel is somewhat creamy up front, becomes watery. Decent amount of roast and toast. Bit of a hop zing follows behind closely. Bitterness seems to build in the aftertaste. Some fruity notes (raspberry & cherry). Not too bad, but not too great either.

An okay amber, malty with some back of the tongue hops. If someone brings a weinhards multi-pack to a party this is the one I’d go for.

Henry Weinhard’s, Blitz-Weinhard Company--Amber Ale--2002 12 oz. Bottle. 5.00% ABV? (3.5 / 5.0) Clear rich bright amber red color. Nice lacy head. Toasted light floral hop front. Thick mild sweet caramel toffee fruit body. Light smoky toasted biscuit spice notes. Sweet mild hop end. No Hops. Sampled 5/19/2003.

I remember these from back in the day. Nothing great but a definite step up from Bud or Miller.

Not bad for what it is, which is pretty much how I feel about every single Weinhard beer. Nothing outstanding about this one though.

RSRIZZO (1683) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 17, 2007
Had this beer on 5/8/2000. Aroma is a light crisp hop scent. Color is a rich brown with good carbonation and head. Taste is light crisp and clean. Starting with a light body that goes down easy with a very light crisp feel. Finish is light all the way around with the strongest point being the bitterness. It’s a nice beer to drink but its nothing special.

Bottle. Didn’t know it was retired, still at the grocery store here. For being so cheap it has a decent malty character, I used to think it was good which is why I tried it again with a more experienced palate. It is overly sweet to me now. It may be too far aged.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2006 Definitely a cheapy, but much better than your run of the mill macrobrews. If I was on a budget this is the beer I would buy.

Orange amber color with a small white head. Taste is a blend of malts, caramel, hops, and sugary. The downfall of this beer may be the heavy presence of sweetness. Finish is not as clean as an amber should be.

oldrtybastrd (3229) - Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA - DEC 28, 2005
Pours a nice medium amber color. Aromas of caramel, malt, and a touch of hops. Flavor is smooth malt with a little bitter in the finish. Great beer for the price.
