I imagine it’s going to taste boring. It smells skunky, cheap. Why breweries who should know better continue to use green and clear bottles instead of brown is incomprehensible to me. It almost always creates this skunk aroma and flavor. Idiots. It pours pretty much like a pale lager--maybe a little darker, but not much--no head, shitty lacing. Tastes of skunk, cheap adjuncts. This doesn’t even taste like a pale ale. It tastes like a macro pale lager. This is without a doubt the worst pale ale I’ve ever had. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA

And because he doesn’t feel like moving a bunch of beers over to our new offices in the next building. Either way, it’s the kind of thing that puts a fellow in a fine frame of mind. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow with loose grayish fizz on top. Mild nutty, corny, slightly earthy-hoppy nose. Watery light body, a bit fizzy. Corn, nuts, and earthy hop on the mid palate. Amazing neutral finish for an "APA." But not an awful beer by any means. Just horribly dull. llcooldave (319), San Antonio, Texas, USA

Pale golden in color... there’s really not much else to say about this other than I"m really disappointed" and I don’t see how they can call this a Pale Ale. tompete (72), Burlington, Iowa, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Pale crystal clear yellow a white head but minimal lacing. Aroma of hops, some fruit and a hint of spice. Thin body with a flavor of apples - very interesting and unexpected. Finish balanced towards malt and a clean but light bitterness. A decent beer on its own, but it makes for a surprisingly bland North Western Pale Ale. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Interesting name. Poured a moderately carbonated medium gold and delivered a smallish foamy white head which departed laceless. Aroma was nicely hopped and floral, as was the taste. thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA

The body is a clear golden color, short 1" white head which went away with as much as a whimper, and clear carbonation bubbles floating away. Aroma has a moldy grassy note (like lifing up the lid of the grass barrell after a few days fermenting), very light citrus notes and some bran cereal thing going on. Flavor is an okay balance of hops and malt, but it seemed so watered down it was barely noticeable. Palate seemed crazy carbonated. I suppose it’d do in a pinch, but if there are other options I’d seek them out. My friend got me started with Private Reserve, but my favorite has to be the Blonde. The Blue Boar to me has a bitter taste.
