| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 1, 2005 Bottle. One of the beers of my youth. I had such class drinking this while others swilled Bud. Well, in reality this isn’t that good. Better than BMC but not by much. Perhaps more hops and a little more body than the typical American Pale. Sadly bought out by Miller. "Pale" is the operative word, though "ale" is in objection.
Very clear, pale yellow color, faint, swiftly disappearing head...not looking like a pale ale in the least, nothing even remotely attractive.
Nose is very minor, no hops, a whiff of citrus, very spritzy.
On the tongue, and in the mouth, it’s a far too fizzy affair, a bodiless offering that offering very little in texture, and throws up none of the hops you’d expect in even the weakest example of a "pale ale" as this bills itself. Faint mouthfeel, dull, dreadful finish. Actually, tastes more like a Rolling Rock...
This drinks down okay, but only if your standards are low. If you really want taste, this is not the way to go. As I said, not even near a decent ale...steer clear, unless you haven’t got the dough for better beer, or just don’t give a darn. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Nov 20, 2004 fucking green bottle. skunked as a mofo. clear, pale golden, head is white and creamy. aroma is of a black and white striped animal and i’m not talking about a zebra. absolutely putrid. frankly i don’t detect any ale-ish notes in this aroma at all. flavor has very mild but extremely stale citrus hop notes. thanks miller. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 10, 2004 this beer tastes more like a crappy lager than a pale ale. tastes like a rolling rock except it has a fancier name. same piss yellow color with a nasty skunk taste. all it needs now is the taste of adjuncts and it’d be all set. extremely disappointing i.e. this beer sucks GEOBRAU (182), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 21, 2004 Pale ale? I don’t think so. This tasted like pilsner along the vein of Peroni. That isn’t saying much. Wheres the hops? Not offensive but nothing resembling character either. ARE WE 100% SURE THIS IS AN ALE? I demand a recount! kbjames (242), Utah, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 10, 2004 not much redeeming to this beer. No head, nothing on the nose, not much to the taste. It wasn’t offensive but no reason to buy this beer.
