Thirst quenching and a nice hop finish, but thin body. This is for very hot weather. It’s usually fairly cheap. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Pours a fizzy yellow with about an inch of sparkly whit foam. The foam quickly disapears. Only aroma is a stale beery smell.
Has more taste than a macrobeer, but less than even the mildest bitter. Nice carbonation and some hop bitterness, but not much else. I sense that I could drink several of these and not even be aware of it. Is that good or bad? jacobs55 (7), Spokane, Washington, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 26, 2006 cant believe the negative commentary here - the blue boar is one of my all time favs. love the skunky smell - drinks smooth - been a henrys fan for 20 years. overall an awesome beer duffman462 (160), Gainesville, Florida, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 16, 2006 A bad beer overall. Very little detectable flavor. I can almost detect some hops, but then all is lots to cheap beer taste. I’ll take a PBR over this crap any day, at least the old Blue Ribbon knows its place. This beer belongs in a can. Kinda skunky, flavorless, and not worth the extra money. Also, it made me feel kinda queezy, rather than drunk. Do not buy this...if you’re thinking about it, just move all the way done the beer aisle to the beers that can remember their place. Wegro (220), Fresno, California, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Sep 21, 2006 Went to my buddy’s place and he offered me one of these concoctions. This has got to be one of my least favorite beers ever. I’d take a coors light over this junk. Yellow, fizzy, totally skunky, smells like urine. Really bad. I can’t believe it’s classified as a APA, it tastes just like a really bad pale lager. STAY AWAY. I had a Foster’s (at the same guy’s place) afterwards and it was even less offesnive than this nasty little beer. jimhilt (1674), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Pours a five finger frothy white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Pale clear amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Slight hoppy nose. Starts boring only hints of malt and hops, doesn’t taste like any of the Irish ales I’ve had. Finish is clean due to lack malts and hops. Might be a good lawn mower beer. $1.50 for a 12oz bottle from Utah DABC Salt Lake City, Ut. weebs (17), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Not a pale ale like Sierra Nevada’s, but more like Rolling Rock. I actually prefer this to Rolling Rock. It’s very smooth, very drinkable, but lacking in overall flavor. Also leaves a bit of a dry aftertaste that isn’t very pleasant. Still, it’s a great thirst-quencher and a reasonably good deal considering it’s average cost ($4.99/6) hayduke (1641), Eureka, California, USA
