Bottle - Not my favorite beer from the Henry Weinhard’s collection. My friend got me started with Private Reserve, but my favorite has to be the Blonde. The Blue Boar to me has a bitter taste.

Straw color, very "skunky" aroma, thin mouthfeel, little to no taste, easy to drink but pretty boring.

This was in the top spot as my favorite american beer and was the best a pale ale could get. Strange how so much can change when the original company that made it disappears. Still, wish it were easier to find in the midwestern states.

This has always been my go to beer. As far as a cheap, light beer goes, this will always be in my fridge.

Best Macrobrew ever, at least the ones I’ve had, and plus it was on sale for six bucks for a twelve pack.

It goes down smooth without any aftertaste. I put a lime wedge in mine. It is weak. I think the alcohol content is 4.61%. It is one of the cheapest beers at the liquor store here in the people’s republic of utah. Would I get it again...not likely or only if I was desperate and on a budget.

Pleasant, but nothing special about it, might as well get 12 stones for the same effect.

This is by far the best macro beer available.

This rating is a historical assessment of what the Blue Boar Ale was. It is still a fresh, crisp, lightly maltly and hoppy ale but overall its fame suffers from the original brewery (Weinhardts, Portland, OR) no longer making it. It tastes like a real good, large brewery, retail beer should taste. Because it comes from my end of the world (N.W. USA) I have a fondness for it. Nothing goes down better than a ice cold HW Blue Boar Ale on a hot summer day. Who gives a hoot what color the bottle is... keep it cold and drink it empty!
