COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A light-bodied, aromatic, Irish-style specialty ale. Double-hopped with PAcific Northwest Cascade hops for the flavor and smoothness of a traditional ale without bitterness of heaviness.

This has lots of charactaristics of an international lager. Light hops and pilsnery malts, not too great. Watery and metallic. Eh.

"cleaner than many pales, but that is because itís a thoroughly weak interpretation of the style. standard macro attempt at a microbrew style. boring."

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with yellow tints around the edges of the glass. The head was about a film of a white cap. There was barely any lacing. The smell had a light spice somewhat like black pepper but not off putting, just different. Thereís a light caramel malt gently coming in as it warmed. The taste was mainly malty sweet with the spice to come back secondly. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Thereís a quick spicy aftertaste and finish. Overall, APA, uh....sure, itís a different one alright but nothing bad.

Bottle at The Burrito House (PDX). Sugary sweet malt nose. Pale straw color. Sweet, cookieish maltiness, very light citrus hop, light cake frosting finish. Thin. Claims to be brewed with Cascade hops, but they are not detectable. This was the only beer on the menu that I hadnít tried before, and so I gave it a go. Pretty "crafty" stuff.

Bottle. Nose is noticeably hoppy, but the hops smell more like pepper than one of the traditional hop flavors. Taste isnít all that bitter, but thereís a little bite to it, along with a faint hint of citrus. Not a lot of substance to the flavor, but drinkable.

Bottled. Pale golden color hardly any head. Light grassy nose. Arome is grassy corn-flavoured. Aroma is sweet lightly malty. Miss the hops. Light sweet finish. More like standard lager.

Bottled 14MAR13 Golden, light, light, yellow. Sheet of white atop and brillantly clarified. Smells like skunk, corn, grain and some bits of soil. Tastes like cheap beer, stronger than a Coors light, but less than say a Rolling Rock. Simple and grainy with little satisfying merits. Thin and moderately carbed with a wet finish that lingers longer than Iíd prefer. Seems like a decent pairing with the shitty jack in the box I have beside me.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin, poorly retained, white head, over a fizzy, yellow (SRM 3) body.....nose is hints of cereal from the malts, hints of pine from the hops, minimal esters....taste is light Pils malts, hints of pine with a minimally bitter finish from the hops.....mouth feel light, watery, carbonation makes a soda quality. This is not an American Pale Ale. The hops are very minimally present. It is almost light enough to be a Pale Lager. BJCP 4/2/7/3/4

Thin head; dissipates quickly. Really light aroma: Green apple-ish fruit, subtle herbal/vegetable aroma. Flavor is also really light, with a similar fruit flavor, plus some malt sweetness. A little bread at a warmer temperature.

Bottle from Ratman. Pours crystal clear dark gold with a small, fizzy white head, short with nearly no retention and spare lacing. Aroma is biscuit and cracker malt with subdued fruity esters and nearly no hops. Flavor is bland malt and old fruit with light hops and bitterness. Light body and medium carbonation. What a mess.

This was in the top spot as my favorite american beer and was the best a pale ale could get. Strange how so much can change when the original company that made it disappears. Still, wish it were easier to find in the midwestern states.
