2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 troopie (1977) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - MAY 11, 2007
Bottle. Faint aroma with a tiny bit of skunk. It could have been this was around too long. Very mild taste, less than I’d expect from a dark lager. Not very bitter with almost no finish but a slight chocolate note. Very highly carbonated. It made me burp unpleasantly for a while after.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cyanescens (159) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 30, 2007
Only thing I can taste is faint hint of chocolate. Very light brew, drinkable. A decent brew when you dont have cash to kick down on some finer ales. Carbonation is high, makes me burp.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hayduke (2926) - Eureka, California, USA - MAR 20, 2007
Inexpensive at $9.99 a 12-pack. Poured a dark brown with a soild off-white head and good lacing. Nose of roasted malts, and some chocolate. Mouthfeel good and rich. Flavor of chocolate and roasted malts. Good clean finish. Ver good for the price.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Treephiend (58) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 23, 2007
I find this beer to be a pretty solid dark larger. Its not tryin to be anything special, but at $3.50 for a 6er, I can’t complain. Pours deep brown, with a tan head and quickly disapating head. The taste is pretty sweet roasted malts with a bit of chocolate. The body is pretty light and leaves something to be desiered from a dark beer, but it is a dark lager, not a porter or stout after all.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 uglyblond1 (177) - Nebraska, USA - JAN 15, 2007
A nice malt and hop aroma, looks good. The flavor has a little too much sweetness, and especially, an annoying wheat aftertaste that is bad, I hate wheat in beer, you may like that? Hops were fresh and American. If not for the wheat...a 3.2
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 DrunkAsASkunk (847) - Lynnwood, Washington, USA - JAN 11, 2007
This beer pours a ruby reddish color in the light with a slightly off tannish head and little to no lacing. Aroma is slight hops and a hint of malt, but relatively little there. Flavor is slightly hoppy in the finish, very little in the carbonation and very little in mouthfeel. Not unpleasant but a lot to be desired. Ironically not the dry malty finish I was expecting. Hints of an older stale chocolate. Drinkable but not very palatable.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 tobizag (34) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - AUG 3, 2006
once again, my fellow northwesterner’s who told me henry’s made amazing beers have been exaggerating. with the pour and aroma, i believe the "classic." but the thin body and uninteresting taste leaves something to be desired from a "dark" beer.

A dark beer with a hinkt of red when held to the light. Poured little head and had a light malt taste and mild sweet hoppy taste. An OK beer, but nothing special.

Had a nice dark color, but didn’t follow through on taste. Sort of a weak maltiness and a thin taste. On the plus side, it goes down smooth with a decent hop presence in the finish.
